People haven’t clocked this yet…Liverpool have some tough fixtures ahead still, so plenty of potential to drop points. Question is whether we have enough players left, in order to maintain a title challenge.
Different manager(with significantly less experience), same team.
If you want some context as well, Liverpool had a bit of injury crisis from January to March, got through with it and maintained being top, got their players back but they still crumbled in the end and not only missed winning the title but ended 9 points behind in the end.
I’m not telling you we’ll win the league, chances are very slim currently. I am however showing you how things can change very quickly and out of nowhere, especially towards the end. So you can’t just call it a wrap in early January.
Why he felt the need to suggest that it was crazy to suggest the title race is over. Liverpool would need to collapse more significantly than last season and we’d have to match or better what we did in the second half of last season.
You can’t then cop out by saying ‘I’m not going to say we’re going to win the league’. I never said Liverpool were unstoppable, so using last seasons data to argue a point not made is ridiculous.
Not that deep really. If Liverpool do what they did at the back end of last year and we do also - we still fail to win the title.
My point was to suggest that Liverpool drop a maximum of 15 points. It was argued by showing that they dropped less than this last season after crumbling.
