PL Title Race 23/24

Just hand us the title…
Not sure what’s even the point (of playing any more games) :xhaka:

We’re just delaying the obvious at this point :xhaka:

Quite confident next season we’ll steamroll through the league.

Bonkers that this team has an average of about 24.
We’re talking legacy potential.

I’d still like us to win this one though while Pep and Klopp are around. I’d also like Mikel to break Jose’s record as the youngest coach to win the Prem.

This. I wan’t us to win while the competition is strong.

Not that talk about “having to take the chances while City/Pool are off”, “we’ll never have a chance like this again” “uhhh ohh”
That’s loser talk.

By da way.
I can’t wait us to meet City this time. Simply can’t wait.
I was fearing that game last year like hell. This is a whole another situation now.
I think they have a lot of reasons for fear now.

Real fuckin shame we’re not just sat level with Liverpool on 61 now, if we were I’d be confident of winning the thing.

Now I think it’ll be us top to end the weekend:

Arsenal 64
Scouse 64
City 63

But that puts one hell of a lot of pressure on that city game, ‘Arsenal bottlers’ already written and printed ready to ship. We need to get revenge for last year and shut everyone up.

I think it comes down to City away for us…good chance Liverpool and City draw at the weekend and we go top if we beat Brentford. If we were then to beat City and have a 4 point advantage, I think we can go all the way. Spurs and Utd are the tough away games, but if we have a lead it may help that these fixtures come late in the season for us.

As it was always meant to be.

It would be something special if we went to City and won and then went on to win the title!

It’s a tradition at this club. It’ll also be the perfect revenge for last season where they made us look like pricks at the Etihad.

Like genuinely outclassed. It was at that game I was done with the Xhaka-Partey-Odegaard midfield. I remember even feeling it before the game that day and posting in the wishlist thread that we ned a new midfield. They followed it up by being overrun and confirming by concern.
I can’t recall a single thing from Xhaka that game. Similar from Odegaard. Partey was the only one who somewhat tried but there’s that big moment for KdB second goal where he pretty much quit after he told Rob to go one way and Rob decided not to.

Our midfield also got overrun against Liverpool and West Ham. Same happened against Brighton when they came to our turf and slapped us

REVENGE!!!

I have a fear that this will be the best PL squad to not win the PL.

Our form is ridiculous, any other season we’d be running away with it. Those losses against Fulham and West Ham will likely haunt us forever.

Hoping Liverpool’s fraudulence is shown soon. Still think they are the 3rd best side of the top 3.

Man I really hope so, but even the injuries don’t seem to be able to stop them. They’re clearly leaving it all out there for Klopp in his last season.

Tbf, they do deserve their flowers for what they’ve done this season. Putting out a title charge with Endo and Mac Allister playing as pivots is wild stuff.

They’ve been very lucky sure but even coming third in this league and in close proximity to us and City unlike those bums Newcastle and Man Utd last season, is pretty impressive.

A League Cup and Europa League is good enough send-off for them.

Yeah they have done well so far, I just think they aren’t as good overall as either us or City.

And their fans are fucking annoying.

It’s in our hands, we just have to perform Vs City at the Etihad and win all our games.

If we do that we win the title.

GD is basically worth a point to us now

  • 10 on City
  • 6 on Liverpool

Let’s beat Brentford Saturday evening, go to top and see what happens at Anfield Sunday.

Brilliantly poised title race. Even when discussing who has the 1st, 2nd, 3rd best chance it’s so close now and they’re all in such good form that I don’t think it really matters who’s 3rd in that equation. That Dubai trip transformed Arsenal from that shitshow at Fulham to causing fire drills every week. Partey and Jesus coming back is a huge boost going into the business end of the season. We appear to have saved our best for the most crucial part of the season. But it’s going to take one hell of a run and probably a huge scalp at the Etihad to take home this league title.

Already buzzing for the coming weekend.

I’d rather have it than not, but I still think GD is massively overrated.

GD is one of the best indicators of a healthy team. Look at united and West Ham, lofty positions but the GD proves how shit they really are.

Of course you’d rather have the position but it doesn’t give much hope for them going forward.

And with the points so close it could actually come down to GD for the title this year.

Has this ever happened before? Other than us winning in '89 on goals scored.
