Thing is he was given dispensation to leave on condition he was back on the Wednesday night, decided to come back the next morning and go straight to training but I think it could have impacted on Covid protocols. Irrespective, being explicitly told that you must be back by x time and you decide you can get back later is a clear breach…
I like laca but would be hilarious if he ends up there with auba. Would show how low they’ve sunk in the post Messi era
Are we ever gonna hear his story, I wonder. Probably gonna go on a Twitter rant like he did with Watzke and Kroos.
More quotes from Auba
Guessing they had a big argument on training ground or summin
Then wouldn’t someone above Arteta’s pay grade have to approve the contract in the first place? I find it hard to believe that Arteta has the authority to give out contracts.
This is down to whatever the bust up w/Arteta was, imo.
Be curious to know what Auba did (or how frequent the behavior was) that put him in exile versus Willian and Xhaka being forgiven.
Ahhh the theory of Arteta being terrible at man management continue. Fuck off Auba you had disciplinary problems twice. Sounds like he just isn’t that good a professional.
I find it really interesting this comes out after the report we paid Auba 7 million to fuck off. Absolutely no way the board warrants that kind of money to Arteta for a simple personal feud. You’re paying that to cut a loss and clean the books.
I can definitely accept Arteta and Auba didn’t see eye to eye towards the end but I’m absolutely convinced there’s much more to this, just as there was with the Ozil situation. This one however as rectified a little more professionally.
Indeed, taken from the article below this is what Tuchel said about coaching Auba whilst at Dortmund
“When we wanted him to be on time, we told him the meeting was 10.45am when it was 11am,” Tuchel said last May. “He did not miss one single training session in two years. Maybe he arrived five minutes late – that can happen with him. But if he does this, he is in a hurry, he is sorry and he has still a smile on his face. That’s him, and it’s hard to be really mad with the guy. He has a big heart. A bit crazy but nice crazy.”
So, he has a tendency of being late… 10, 15 minutes here and there.
Tuchel also said, not miss one single training…
Big deal.
A yellow card foul but the haters make it like a deserved red.
Sounds familiar?
This is irrelevant sadly as I believe the club has achieved what they wanted on this. I think @Castiel is right in that contract didn’t sit right with someone higher up and they needed a mechanism to get rid of this ‘issue’ and this was the solution. Arteta being who he is did his part but it doesn’t work without being backed.
I was thinking that’s how the Ozil one panned out, too.
However, where Aubamecunt has come out and said “this is all on Arteta” (or words to that effect), Ozil hasn’t said a thing about Arsenal or Arteta post-departure.
Much more like what? Auba hasn’t done or said anything outside football to warrant attention or scrutiny from senior management or the board.
I think the board are going to back Arteta regardless, such is their delusion
This is a good read.
Interesting that Auba is saying he has a problem with Arteta and all the rest of the lads still seem to have a great deal of affection towards Auba.
Probably age proximity between older athletes and young managers
