Why if I may ask?
Communism ended 30 years ago, the difference is day and night now.
Poland suffered hella lot throughout history being attacked and conquered from all sides. Don’t be too harsh on your roots.

My family left Poland/Lithuania amid rising anti Semitism in the early 1900s. The Jewish communities in those countries were basically wiped out, in some cases with gleeful cooperation from non Jewish folks who lived side by side with the people they persecuted. More recently I have a real issue with Poland’s government trying to rewrite history and play up the partisans who resisted the Nazis while ignoring the many many many collaborators.
Hmmm. I find it harsh to blame Poland on this. And surprised you’re so enthusiastic about visiting Germany.
You do know Nazi Germany orchestrated the endlösing and built the concentration camps in Poland and had Ukrainian collaborators in the SS guarding these camps? Where millions of Jews were gassed to death?
I am really surprised you have so much resentment to Poland. When it’s Germany who have slaughtered millions of Poles and other Slavs and practically wiped out ashkenazi Jews everywhere they went.
Really? I had no clue! Tell me more about my own history. /s
Germany paid reparations to the families of Jews, they returned property and, for the most part, they haven’t tried to whitewash the past. In my opinion Poland definitely has.
Okay
Look I’m not trying to be a dick, it’s just my own anger at losing a huge piece of personal history. Maybe going back as an adult and not an angry teenager would be different, idk.
I do get the point you’re trying to make about Germany. My granddad refuses to take Bayer aspirin and once hit the roof when I suggested buying a VW Jetta.
Yeah it’s okay. I respect your view. You experience it that way.
I just think there is more blame to be put on Germany for this than on Poland. Repatriations or not. Poland had been completely devastated by the invasion and occupation. Not just by the Nazis, later as well by the Soviets.
So many Poles lost relatives, property, basically everything as well to the nazis.
That there were collaborators, undoubtedly there were. But they were in every country.
Very true. I’m sure I’ll end up going back at some point.
Sounds awesome man.
Not gonna lie though I’m a little jealous hearing about road trips like that whilst I can’t legally go more than 25km from my residence.
Yeah, this was during the pandemic but in the summer. Travel restrictions within Europe were less strict. Although you can still travel around now, they strongly advice to only travel if it’s necessary to other countries. Over the summer holiday a lot of new cases have appeared.
25km restriction sounds very harsh! How do they enforce this in Australia?
They have police patrolling a few roads at checkpoints in and out of certain areas.
But by and large they’re relying on citizens to do the right thing.
You suit that hair a lot mate haha

What’d you use for the slick back? I’ve had some moderate success with the cantu curl cream, not sure if they sell that in Denmark.
