Yeah it usually happens in summer in the park when she’s sprinting around on the hard packed soil and she stops and breaks with her paws and the dew claw gets caught in the hard soil and rips out.
Poor little thing, she’s such a trooper but you can she’s in a lot of pain when she’s limping around with it.
Lost my beautiful little boy. Fuck me I’ve just been bawling my eyes out since I found out. The sweetest little guy you could ever ask for, gonna miss him so much
Have tried not to cry the entirety of the day He was only about a year and a half old. Just such a lovely little cat, so friendly and sweet.
We got him from a rescue and I’ll never forget the first time we met him, he was in a cage with about 10 other kittens and was just climbing under and over all the other cats to get to us and plead his case to be taken home with us.
It sucks so bad but at least he was treated like a king for the year and a half he was with us.
Deepest condolences Bav. I’ve been through that process a few times and it’s just horrible. The hurt never really goes away but I will say that over time the memories I have are truly only happy ones. And maybe because I’m overly sentimental and a romantic but I do believe our pets understand how much we care for them.
It sucks so bad. Here I am being a big strong grown man that can own a home, pay bills, fight off other grown men andyet one of these little buggers can render me a bedridden, sobbing mess.
But like my mum said to me, it’s nice to remember that while our pets are here they get to be treated to the most amazing life and I think we definitely gave our boy a hell of a life while he was here
We laid the young fella to rest today, alongside two of his cousins in an amazing spot up in the hills overlooking the outskirts of Auckland (the photos don’t really do it justice). A beautiful final resting place for a beautiful soul
@Bavin I’m sorry to hear mate. Animal lovers understand it, it fucking sucks. Worst thing about having pets the lifespan just doesn’t feel long enough.
