Pep Guardiola

Saying he has nothing to do with it is nonsense

Oliver Kahn and Matthaus would disagree with you.

Their track record of managing and scouting disapprove themselves already. I donā€™t need anything from them.

In case you did not watch enoughā€¦ since 2011 Germany played the way they played in 2014 WC winning team.
Lahm still played as full back on the NT as usual.
You want to give credit to Pep on DFB back to 2012?

Guardiola is the best and most successful manager but could he have done what Clough did?

Nope

Two 2nd tier teams. Promote them. Win the top flight. Turn one of them into European champions. Defend that crown successfully.

Elite.

The idea of Pep lurking on Twitter is hilarious.

Imagine when he runs into lunatic tacticos like
nonewthing.

All the best players in the world play for big clubs with money. Why wouldnā€™t the managers?

Heā€™ll only go to clubs with money who have the financial clout to buy a team.
All this bullshit about him being a world class manager, then let him prove his stripes by leaving City and managing a team with next to no budget , then weā€™ll see what a money and
media hyped Pep is all about.

Same with players.

Why are you treating him differently just because you donā€™t like him lol

Top quality players donā€™t ā€˜relegateā€™ themselves to lower teams to help them do they ?
Could you see Messi joining say , Palace , to help them ?
No , neither can I

Thatā€™s exactly @Calumā€™s point though. Why is this not applied to Pep?

The original point was that Pep will only manage where thereā€™s money. Heā€™s (Pep ) done nothing to dispel that.

Why would he relegate himself to lesser teams to prove a point? It doesnā€™t make any sense. Heā€™s an elite coach and the best in the game right now. Thereā€™s no need for him to do anything other than manage the best teams in the world.

Money or no money - there isnā€™t a manager in the business right now that could replicate his success over the last 15 years.

Guys success in 14 seasons as a manager is unparalleled. Heā€™s dominated the sport like no other manager has.

We wonā€™t know unless one manager has the same plum jobs that Pep did/has. I know that stems from the success he had at Barcelona (and fair play to him), but some of this ā€œgreatest everā€ lark only goes so far.

As Iā€™ve said previously, I canā€™t see Pep doing what Wenger did at Arsenal unless he actually does it.
