I know it wasn’t
just funny I said 24 hours ago how its excellent we aren’t leaving London all month then the fixture gods said NOPE off to Wolverhampton you go
It can’t because Crystal palace have conference league commitments that midweek.
Cheer up. It’s Wolves, a.k.a. gift horse. (I hope).
So we’ll likely play:
- Southampton (A) - Saturday April 4th
- Sporting (A) - Tuesday April 7th
- Bournemouth (H) - Saturday April 11th
- Sporting (H) - Wednesday April 15th
- City (A) - Sunday April 19th
I think the sporting games might be the other way around if we play 8pm fa cup no?
Either way we need to rotate in that FA cup game as the next two require full strength to put us in the best spot for PL / CL.
Edit - nevermind bmouth is an early kick off so you’re right.
So we have a break after the League Cup Final and the next match is the FA Cup Quarter finals. I don’t want the players to leave anything in the tank on Sunday, and then we can be fresh and rested for Southampton and Sporting.
I think Bournemouth (H) in the PL could be massive, and maybe the moment that we can clinch the title if we win and City drop points away to Chelsea. Plus, we play at 12:30 on the Saturday and City don’t play until Sunday, so win, and we go 12 points clear!
Yeah, I think the next two PL games will either settle the title or blow the title race wide open yet again.
Arsenal win their next two PL games and it’s done.
City win their next two PL games and I may even give them the edge to go all the way.
i would say next game will be key.. because we play Bournemouth and City play chelsea.. if we win and City drop points then the game between Arsenal V City wont matter much even if we lose.
anyways the way city are playing, i dont think we will lose against them, at worst it will be a draw
It wouldn’t be the end of the world to lose to Man City in the league just for them to get the “monkey off their back” of having not beaten us in the league in a while.
As you say, we’re so far ahead that a loss up in Manchester shouldn’t derail us too much.
A defeat this season would sting far less than in seasons to come when I suspect we’ll be closer in terms of points.
The main reason for Tues/Wed instead of the other way around is that I read that April 15th is the Hillsborough and Liverpool never play on that date apparently.
Seeing they will most likely schedule English teams on different days it will probably end up this way.
May seems foolish but I think that outcome of Carabao Cup final will influence results of next games in PL, so it is better to take one game at the time. We don’t know what will happen on Sunday, there may be some injuries or other things…
If I have to predict now I don’t see us dropping 6 points in PL in the remaining 7 games but I can see City dropping points.
Iraola, be a pal, would ya?
I do. We’ll beat those corrupt pricks.
i think league title will be decided in April inshAllah
If we beat Bournemouth and come away from City with a point I think that’s the league done
what if we beat Bournemouth and Chelsea beat City, is that league done and dusted ?
Yeah definitely barring the most monumental collapse known to man
Arsenal quite prone to that collapse but even with our collapse i dont see City winning 8 in a row especially with trips to Chelsea, Bournemouth and Everton. They are definately going to drop points in those games, which will give us even more cushion. I think 82-83 will be more then enough to win the league. which means 4 wins out of remaining 7 games.. which we should do even with collapse.
