Weed is famously not legal for recreational use in Maryland since liquor distributors always lobby against it (as if liquor and weed are somehow competitors). There are also reasons why some NIMBY-types lobby against it (âUgh Shannon, that smell is just awful!â)
And there are some legit concerns about distribution. Who gets a license to grow and sell in Maryland? Who decides who get that license? Will legalizing weed cut into some of the absolutely idiotic murders we see in the State involving people fighting over illegal weed distribution, shootings over drug debts or robberies and burglaries over tiny amounts of weed? I think it would but it would probably take some time and every new news report on weed related crime would drive NIMBYs into a self righteous rage.

Any chance it ever gets legalised federally you reckon? We kind of need the US to do it first cos right now itâs too easy to just dismiss it as something the remaining hippies in SF somehow managed to get through even though itâs what, more than 20 states now where itâs legal?
In Ireland even the medicinal stuff is essentially banned and there are so many hoops to jump through at which point you can be granted a license that allows your pharmacist to order the stuff inâŚlike fucking seriously.

I just donât see it happening any time soon. There are too many Republicans invested in the perpetual war on drugs to make that happen. Maybe if you had some weird coalition of Dems, Progressives and Libertarians?
I think itâs more likely we end up with a majority of states where itâs legalized for recreational use or even a supermajority.

I am very fond of West Ham, being from round that way, but their obsession with the national team and the boys of 66 is so fucking lame. Itâs the clearest indication that the club has fuck all success of its own to celebrate, and this new range just sums that up for me lol
Plus its all as ugly as sin, could possibly have forgiven it if the gear at least looked decent.
