Chilwell is a bad signing for the price. He’s average as fuck and doesn’t excel at anything. Robertson, Shaw, Tierney, fuck even Marcos Alonso are better than him.
You saw with William how they will inflate wages for the story. I doubt he’s on anywhere near that much.
I’ve done some searching there was alot of tabloid stuff saying hes signing a 5 year contract a year after signing a 5 year contract. But mulitple articles that came out this year seemingly with Chelsea revealing the wages of their players all agree kepa and kante are at 150k, with quotes saying havertz being on 180k is smashing their wage structure.
It was widely reported at the time he was signing for around 300K, at the time not only was he their 2nd best performer beside Hazard but they had to fend off PSG so he had plenty of leverage.

Well, the only confirmation would be us seeing his bank statements.
I believe it to be true because he was likely on 150K a week after he signed with them the firs time, plus to keep him with big PSG interest they had to pay him Hazard money and at the time he was totally worth it.
And what reports are those? I highly doubt the likes of Werner earn more than Kante. Kante had all the leverage signing his last deal.

Chelsea had Kante until 2022 and he signed it supposedly in nov 2018, absolutely no leverage
Also wasn’t that when Sarri took over and pushed Kante up the field to become an average Mezzala esque player
He was key in their last title win winning the PFA player of the year and PSG were looming, that’s more than enough leverage for a world class player.
For their very best player/s Chelsea are willing to pay top whack as they did with Hazard.
If Chelsea got one of the (at the time) leagues most influential players at less than 150 and then renewed him on that amount then that was a masterstroke.

Most players these days don’t start declining till they reach 33/34. And Italian league is slightly more “comfortable” compared to the Premier League. Think Pedro will do well for Roma.
