It’s no secret that Bernardo has been trying to leave City for several years, the problem has just been Barcelona not having any money, him not being a great fit for Real’s project, and PSG having Messi on the right. Now PSG are losing Messi and Luis Campos who brought Bernardo to Monaco is there…
There is a scenario where all of Bernardo, Gundogan and KdB may look to leave you know.
I think the treble might be a nice epilogue for them at City.
Bit scary what that might mean for us though. They never seem to relax even when on top. The charges won’t stop them either.
We know they wanted Bellingham and from what has been reported, might have offered more money than Madrid. Clearly the money is there. City qre spending that money somewhere, I hope it’s not on anyone we want.
Rather they keep their current squad as much as possible, we’ve seen the best of them these last few months while hungry for the CL and pep knows he needs to freshen it up to keep the motivation (said himself in interviews before).
United just can’t help themselves from getting sucked into that aging big splash signing - Falcao, Schweinsteiger, Matic, Alexis, Ibra, Ronaldo, Varane, Casemiro.
I think the only one Fergie might have signed would have been Casemiro. He certainly wouldn’t be signing Neymar at 31 to come to United, spend half the year on the trainer’s table, and become their biggest earner.
Falcao and Varane were like 28 and Matić was 29 haha. I’d hardly call them aging. Falcao was a bad move because he came off the back of the horrible injury.
Neymar is still a stupendously good player on his day but this transfer makes little sense to me
My bad, I remembered Falcao as so slow in a United shirt that I thought he was older, but I guess it was just the knee.
Neymar is fantastic but hasn’t been up to being a full time player for years, I can’t see that getting better in the PL where he is getting kicked constantly.
The fact that Chelsea and Man Utd are interested in the move says a lot really.
Neymar is a generational player and I have no doubts he’ll produce some moments of magic for them. However, his injury record the past years has been awful. He moves to the PL now, it’s gonna be long for him. He’ll be getting beaten up every match.
The dude hasn’t played beyond 30 matches in all competitions in years. He ain’t lasting here.
Btw, I’ve just checked. He has more 30 or more appearances in a season only twice in his time at PSG.
Once was 30 appearances exactly when he arrived, and the other was 31 appearances a few years ago.
That is genuinely shocking. Didn’t realize it was that bad.
When your wide options apart from Rashford are Sancho and Antony I can see the appeal but yeah it’s another bonehead move by United if true, his injury record will be even worse in the PL especially with how he tends to hold onto the ball for too long. Additionally he doesn’t track back etc and his workrate is suspect, ten Hag has shown naivety before though.
