Oleksandr Zinchenko (17)

Didn’t think we’d get half that amount for him.

Why so cheap? I know his contract is soon up. Can’t we bag a nice sale? He isn’t a scrub.

He’s on a fair wage so he’ll be a lot of money off the books for this coming season plus £12.5m. Plus Fulham is the Arsenal retirement home.

Edit- Wages for the season ahead would cost us approximately £7.8m. Interestingly Transfermarkt have him valued at €20m so around the amount we’ll save plus £10m-ish.

Arsenal. Stop getting bitched on sales please.

We value him at 12.7M do we? Sounds completely legit and not at all like a figure someone pulled out of their ass.

Feel like we’re getting bent over on price here. 15m upfront with 5m in add ons seems pretty fair. I’d rather keep him here as a midfield option to be honest. With Partey and Jorginho going, an experienced midfielder like Zinny would be good to keep around.

Be better off keeping him rather than taking an offer like that. If he is ‘reasoning’ with a wage cut he can do the same and stay here.

I agree with you. Unless we are getting decent money, much better to keep him and can cover in midfield when required if Partey leaves.

Busted flush. Just get him out asap

if Zinny’s valuation is that low, we might as well keep him and lose him on a free whenever that may be.

He shouldn’t be going for anything less than £25m in my opinion.

Thats a decent price for an experienced international, who can play a couple of positions and has a lot of football left in him.

I was hoping letting players go for cut price was done with Edu’s departure.

Well we haven’t sold him for a cut price deal, so until something concrete appears, this is all just speculation.

Didn’t we get him for 25 mill? Few years of service. Injury prone, and evidently not in our plans. 20 mill is about right imo

I think we paid £30-35m for him from recollection.

he value is one thing, why do we keep a player that we rarely use and we have “better” options on table?
at this point, Kiwior may start ahead of Zinny as LB if everyone is healthy, considering we already have Calafiori, MLS, and Timber (also as RB).

Good point and also feeds back to the value. We have a surplus in that position, he’s clearly out of favour and it’s an open secret that he’s available. We’re not in a position to pretend that we’ll get a decent price for him.

Supporters’ valuation of a player counts for nothing if the only offers coming in are for significantly less.

Summary: He got a sweet contract he’s never getting again and wants to sit on it until it expires.
