if he is willing to sit on the bench, so be it

Horrible contract for a player that never showed elite qualities.

Might aswell retain before he inevitable fucks off to West Ham

If Arteta is willing to use him, sure but it was evident last season that he is firmly in the bin.

He is good enough to be the 4th LB and 5th CM.

To be frank, never thought he could get us real money even if we could sell.
Maybe 10m or 15m.

The ones that we are willing to sell and could get us significant money are Martinelli and Kiwior. Not even Trossard.

He is better than Merino.
After Odegaard, Zinchenko is the only one who can play a pass. (Yet to watch Zubi)

unfortunately he is a liability when talk about midfield battle and defense.

I am starting to believe that is a presumption rather than evidential conclusion.
Which defensive error do you remember from Zinchenko?

It doesn’t need to be ā€œerrorā€.
Was he ever a defensive player? No.
Making passes is just one area that CM covers.

do you remember he made any tackle or stop and created transition from that?

The fucking obsession about transitions.
Zinchenko is pretty good at that anyway. However, the core responsibility of a midfielder (if everyone forgot) is to get the ball in the box and create goal scoring chances.

Zinchenko is absolute baller at it and he has shown it multiple times here at Arsenal.

No, and he shouldn’t be a defensive player. He should be an AM. he should play as 8 or 6 in current system.

do you remember he made any tackle or stop and created transition from that?

Shit tons in his first season when he was played regularly.
Here’s how he fared against other left backs in the league

That is while not being a traditional left back

The whole Zinchenko can’t defend narrative is from this one high profile instance. Otherwise, I don’t recall any other mistakes he has made.

Pal, I said it, I don’t quite remember the error(s) he’s made.

Wasn’t how our team to set this up?
Having Kai/Ode as the first wave to press, then Rice with the two wingers the second press; to force turnovers and transition from defense to offense?
Can Zinny press, if we don’t talk about this defense?

Again, yes, he can pass, no one is arguing about this.
I am just talking about other areas of being a CM, not a LB (the stats you showed).

It’s not a special skill. It’s just running towards an opponent.

first it is not always run towards to opposing player. A lot of times you have to anticipate where the ball will go and cut the passing lane and pass options.
Run like headless chicken or run in straight lines is not effective of pressing.

Second, it requires a lot of stamina and fitness to do so.
Zinny hasn’t been physically fit for quite a long time.

ronniec, it’s just running. Zinchenko can run and by extension press.
It’s not that difficult.

you ever played the game Monkey in the middle?

you know that, the easy running that you believe, is not that easy actually.

Good cm option. Time to sell though. He’s a multiple time league winner and international captain. He can’t be here as 6th choice cm. Surely an Italian or Spanish team bite

Love zina hope he stays if the bid isn’t 20m or more.

Another example of our terrible player trading approach. Didn’t move him on last summer and instead held on to him for a year with him rotting in reserves not playing.

Think he was injured at the time

He played in every pre season match and was in the match day squad for all three games in August.
