Surely he’s not on that much?!

150k per week, according to this

This is the problem buying rejects from clubs like Chelsea and Man City, they’re on ridiculous wages.

You think Zinchenko was a bad signing? Thought he raised the technical quality of the squad massively.. obviously didn’t work out long run but at the time an excellent signing. And wouldn’t call him a City reject at all.

It’s like with Jesus, they served their purpose and now it’s time to move on, whether it’s down to injuries or moving on to better players.

Never forget, at the time we signed them, our aspirations was somehow challenging for Top 4. Not only did we finally break into the Top 4, we became title contenders. They changed the mentality of our team, and that’s been referenced by other players and Arteta himself.
They will always get credit for it from me.

Zinchenko wasn’t an reject, he was an opportunity. City had a chance to sell a player at a good value and we had a chance to acquire a player who was better than what we had with hopefully more upside.

What happened has happened but it wasn’t signing a reject.

Jesus Zinchenko acquisition was critical. We wouldn’t be here if not for the impact they made in first half of that season.

Shame it only last half a season.

Same with Jesus. We made a clear jump when those two came in. I swear fans love to focus on pointless platitudes.

There’s no doubt this signing was a flop. Sure he was a better system fit than KT but even when he was healthy he wasn’t particularly high level at LB.

You’re spot on about the wages for rejects, the figures on the contract are ridiculous. I just hope we can shift him

I’ll never forget Zinny crying like a bitch after costing us the title at Anfield. He definitely improved the quality and mentality (bar the crying) of our team though.

He’s not a bad signing but paying world class wages when he is more of a squad player, is a waste.

My point is, the massive wages we’ve paid players like Willian, Sterling, Havertz, Luiz, Zinchenko, Jesus, Jorginho, have mostly been way more than they’re worth and only Jorginho comes close to deserving them so Arteta shoiuld just stop signing players from Chelsea and Man City.

He wasn’t a squad player when we bought him. He transformed the team

Some of Zinchenko’s performances in his first season was absolutely world class. He would end up dictating the whole game even popping up next to Odegaard. We haven’t had that level of passing for a while now.

He was always garbage as a defender but did have a massive impact as a hybrid additional CM with his technical quality in that first season.

That’s why I want us to sign an actual skilled CM.

I think its fair to think that overall Zinchenko has been a bit of a disappointing signing. That in part of course is because we’ve signed better players who kept him out of the side.

It’s truly bizarre though to essentially write off his time here completely as he was among a group of players who truly transformed this team when he came in.

Was a good signing who should’ve featured more in the last 12-18 months but got shunted out cos mikel decided he was bored of him.

Injuries a bit of an issue along the way, rarely fit when he had the chance to get back in but last season plenty of chance to use him in midfield.

Absolutely bizarre behavior especially when we needed creativity desperately.

Like Cala, he can’t defend if his life depending on it in LB, but going forward he was one of our most instrumental players in 22/23 season.

What happened after that I’ll never know…

It’s a shame that Mikel can be ruthless with his full backs and GKs, but not his forward line. Christ.
