I’ve followed Madueke since his early PSV days and always rated him highly. He really stood out in the Eredivisie (Mickey Mouse league, I know), but the talent was obvious.
Chelsea felt like the wrong move for him, as it has been for so many others. Just never looked like a good fit.
It’s definitely an underwhelming signing on paper, but I’m hopeful he can fulfil his potential here—playing in a better team, with more quality around him and a proper tactical setup.
Looking forward to seeing him get some minutes in pre-season.
Judging by all the abuse his getting I’m sure it hasn’t escaped his attention, you’ve got to give the guy credit for his thick skin for wanting to still sign for Arsenal.
Just shows how these moronic Arsenal fans are in no position to judge the behavior of other rival fans.
We paid what they wanted and no other club was interested but it also helps that because we buy so many Chelsea rejects, our negotiation team could do these transfers blindfolded.
It’s surprising there aren’t many bigger clubs after Mbuemo and Wissa.
They scored almost forty goals between them last season and plenty of assists at a mid table club.
