Can’t understand why we’ve gone and spent so much on him. Surely we could have gotten him for lower than this? I just don’t get the logic behind this being wrapped up so quickly.
We’re in intense negotiations with Sporting and seemingly going back and forth over a few million but we wrapped this one up in no time and paid way over what Chelsea paid for him

It’s an tactical manoeuvre. I’m not trying to make this thread anymore a shitshow than it’s going to be in about 30 seconds.
Same. He’ll go on a lengthy holiday, after CWC and will miss most of our pre-season anyway. Could have waited and sign bigger targets first.

I don’t generally buy into the idea that we should never buy from Chelsea, but this is just a straight up horrible deal. I went from feeling pretty positive about our window to feeling like we have completely butchered it.
Like I said a few days ago, if we don’t get the striker and the left winger we need, the club can honestly just go fuck itself.

Madueke seems like the sort of target where you play hardball and wait til late in the window before upping your offer to 35m, knowing Chelsea will take it because they have 15 wingers on the books.
Have no idea why we’re making big, tempting offers for him in July.

All I know is Martinelli is cooked next season with Madueke and Eze coming in. 
That spot in the NT is all but gone.
