He became a starter for us, helped us challenge for Top 4 and then the league, won goalkeeper of the season and then got replaced by an even better goalie while we moved him on for around the same money we paid.

If Madueke has a similar time coming in as backup then that means he did really well.

He won’t though because his only positon is one that Saka plays in, is it not?

In a ideal world he bearely plays for us and I ain’t buying in with him on the LW at all

We have an 18 year old that’s streaks ahead of this bloke and a limited budget for multiple priority areas.

At this point I’m convinced there is some shady business going on between the two owners.

I’d be more convinced of this theory if they ever gave us money for players we didn’t want. Seems remarkably one sided for some sort of covert financial dealing.

If we get Madueke and that’s it for the attack along with Gyokeres man oh man

Yeah, not excited about this at all.

He only makes sense as the third attacker signed but spending this much on the third guy probably makes Rodrygo harder as the second guy.

Impossible to be excited about this. I’ll only be ok with this if it is in addition to Gyokeres and Rodrgyo/Eze, but that does seem a little unlikely.

I’ll give the lad a chance and at least try to start off neutral (if I can’t manage positivity). If the manager and recruitment team think he could be an important player, fair enough, I’ll give him a chance, but they better be fucking right about it lol.

Better be closer to 30 than 50m too.

Will be extremely disappointed if this is our only addition to the wide areas. This is the kind of signing we should be making once we’ve wrapped up a left winger and then we can focus on strengthening our bench options.

Unlike most on here I actually think he’d be a good signing but just not absolutely not under any circumstances should he be our main addition to the wing position.

Just…buying this guy helps Chelsea more than it helps us. Bleh. Why is this happening.

If we don’t sign Eze or Rodrygo too when WTAF, all last season we’ve been crying out for a legitimate upgrade at LW

If the answer is to sign a left footed Madueke then what the hell was the question?

This dude will not beat out Martinelli for that spot I’m telling you now

And I question the thought process of paying the requisite money required for a backup regardless

Yeah, Ornstein was the one that broke the news that we’re looking at Eze, separately to striker and winger.

Dreadful.

Sick and tired of our transfer policy on attackers these days.

Arteta what the fuck are you thinking mate

It’s not even a greedy consumptive fanbase thing.

We want good players not lots of players. Stop wasting your time on shot players when they are the same price as the good ones!

Are we missing something ? Maybe Madueke is an elite level talent and we just dont know ?

As a long term squad option, if you take we are planning to offload Jesus and Trossard very soon, maybe even Martinelli later on, with Nwaneri transforming into a more central player… Sure, he’s not the worst option to have to cover for both wings, actually a very good one.

But if he’s the only ā€œbigā€ attacking signing next to Gyokeres then it looks very underwhelming.

At best, as a LW, he’s just a decent cover for Martinelli. He might surprise me there, but atm I’m not very optimistic. As far as I know, and looking at the clips again, almost everything good he produces comes from the right side.
Sadly, that’s where I expect him to get the most minutes.

If he’s really THAT signing we have to hope Martinelli rediscovers his best form asap.

Arteta needs to be stopped for his own good

Is Arteta such a mug that he doesn’t realise why Chelsea are so keen to sell us their rejects?
Hasn’t he seen enough to know they’re not worth the transfer fees or wages he’s paying them?
