As Cuellar said, we should see if Mavropanos is up to it this season and then we know if we should sell or not.

Maybe by some miracle Arsenal will be able to sell somebody to raise more funds for another CB. I’ll keep holding out hope. Looks like they’re counting on a main partnership of Holding and Sokratis, which is fine if they can stay healthy (especially if Tierney is lined up beside them at left back). I had figured on them maybe selling high on Chambers this summer, but with Koscielny on his way out and it looking increasingly unlikely they’ll be able to unload Mustafi, Calum might end up being 3rd choice. Nacho can playe there as well in a pinch, so hopefully we’ll not see too much of Mustafi in the league if he’s still around. I think Mavropanos really should be sent out on loan to get some experience, but we’ll see. I did see something the other day about Medley getting some first team opportunities.

napoli can fuck off, surely Pepe watched us run over them in the EL. On the madness scale this is way up there because the idea of Pepe was so pie in the sky. I would still say Özil on deadline day was the most insane tho because that was completely out of the blue. Sanchez was another good one because of arrogant lolpool fans thinking Sanchez would choose them instead of us. And then of course Auba. But this is right at the top.

We represent a really good option for Pepe…he would have virtually no competition to get into the starting 11 with us, and I’m sure would love to play alongside Auba and Laca…
I still don’t think the Zaha deal is dead though. Ornstein said it virtually is, but he also said we only had a limited budget this summer. Ok we are paying for Pepe in installments, but doesn’t mean to say that we couldn’t find some extra funds. This may all be a ruse to force Palace to lower their transfer demands. Deadline day drama!?!?!
