I agree, if this was a potential player that was available right now for 14m, and they were a definite upgrade on what we had this would be a no brainer.
And a manager has more impact on a team than any individual player so we shouldn’t have second thoughts about this if this is the manager we want. I personally think Pochettino and Rodgers are our best choice for manager, not least because Leicester will be weaker without him which will boost our (admittedly low) top 4 hopes

If we get one of them it will be the best business the board has done.
I don’t remember any supporter saying they wanted Emery and, of the managers we could get, those two, along with Ancelotti and Allegri, could walk in and turn this club around straight away because they have the experience and track record to do it.
Saying that, I’m under know illusion that whoever the board pick won’t be one of these.
I can absolutely guarantee it.

That is something that doesn’t come forward at all. He is basically saying that Arsenal like the idea of Pochettino. I’m sure some at Arsenal would advocate for Guardiola and Klopp too lol. Further nothing concrete at all.
Love Wenger but him staying for so long really fucked us. At one point Guardiola wanted to come, it was implied after Klopp left Dortmund that he would be joining Arsenal, Liverpool weren’t even linked with him. Both of the above admired Wenger, they liked what was happening at Arsenal and Admired the club and would off most likely ended up at Arsenal.

Mate, even Diego Simeone spoke of how well Arsenal are structured during Wenger’s final season. In the days of cloak and dagger, smokescreens and clandestine meetings, the fact that Simeone was just speaking about Arsenal could have been a “come and get me” plea.
It would have been risky, but it would have been a statement of intent by our board to get him in after Wenger.
Given the way our stock has dropped in the last 18 months, Simeone wouldn’t look twice at us

I think that £14 million price on Rodgers just highlights our point about money really being the deciding factor for bringing in a top quality manager and really does prove that everyone has their price.
I mean the guy only signed up for Leicester back in February of this year, is currently third in the league with a game in hand with a team that is better organised and playing better football than ours, yet £14 million Plus whatever he wants as wages and he’s in London Colney and the Arsenal dug out.
Which is why I don’t personally buy the whole “their isn’t anyone available” crap. Course there is, just depends on how willing the board are to pay what it takes. Their having a laugh if they think they can use a club legend to kill time until the end of the season only so they cheap out and get and make another Emeryesque appointment!

I don’t think Rogers would leave Leicester and Poch is still smarting from being sacked I bet.
I would rather run with Freddie till the end of the season because it’s looking like the decision to sack Emery took to long to make and that means no top four.
Ok we could win the games but so will Leicester and Chelsea.

Rodgers would leave them at any point. He left Celtic when he was about to win a treble midseason, for a Leicester that were shit then.
He’d leave Leicester for us if he had the chance.
And he’d leave us for United or Barcelona etc at any point if he had the chance. Man has no loyalty.
