Mykola Matviyenko

I’d take virtually anything to make at least one of these bums just actually think there not guaranteed an easy Street ride.

Pretty much most clubs are doing loan to buys in this market. It’s one of the only ways to keep the accounts looking healthy if you don’t have a big rich owner funnelling money into the club in other ways.

I think Loan with obligation is OK because it’s really just another way to spread out the fee/payments.

It’s kind like having a credit card and using it near the end of the month before pay day. You know you’re good for it, you just want to spread the payments out a bit so you don’t hit your cash flow too hard.

According to some other fuck cunt of a source, Arteta has been “lobbying” to sign this player for 2 years.

If that is to be believed, you’d hope we aren’t signing him off the back of one good season, but rather watched his development for a while.

I’ve seen quite a lot of Ukrainian football in the last year or so and he is very decent. Excellent left foot, bit of a set piece specialist and would give us a regular threat from that for a change.

Scored a few times in the big Classicos against Kiev so not scared of the big occasion either. With him and Tierney we’d have the best set of left backs in the division, no doubt about that :+1:

interesting, how come. what would you recommend there

Haven’t seen many ukrainian players doing much in top leagues recently… but he does look good in those clips… Sign him up!

He does look very competent defensively, even against City… we could definitely use a competent left back atm.

@Robin_L
What position does he usually play? People say he can play as a CB too, and I’ve seen him playing even as a RB (or at least a right CB) in some clips, which is very strange…

That’d be an immykolate signing, just what we needed. One or two more and Top 10 will be well within reach.

Comfortable across the back line, he’s a natural with the ball at his feet. He can beat a man, he can pick a pass. Not monstrously quick, he can still turn on the afterburners over 10 yards and will run all day: a real workhorse. Decent with his back to goal, he’s creative but can also run the channels, finding those little pockets of space inbetween the lines :+1:

Sign both, €9m really shouldn’t be the be all or end all of our transfer policy ffs

That’s pocket change to Stan.

Unless it’s of course all bullshit, which is very likely.

Maybe they’ll be too many CBs on the books next season even if Mustafi leaves.

If I had to choose, I’d pick Matviyenko. It looks like he’s a player Arteta has requested directly whereas Mari is Edu/Raul deal.

Mustafi, Mav, Sokratis should be on the chopping board so that leaves us with:

Holding, Luiz, Saliba so another CB is essential. Chambers is a non entity and should also be moved on in the summer.

Realistically Chambers ain’t playing again for another 12 months, Mustafi will leave and I don’t see Sokratis/Luiz hanging about for too long at their age either.

It doesn’t look like we have any youth CBs we can promote either.

I feel like getting Mari and Mykola shouldn’t be so prohibitive.

Chambers can cover multiple positions.

Ideally he shouldn’t be starting, however, you need someone like that in the squad tbh and he’s demonstrated his value as a squad option.

I’m not confident we’ll get any any of these deals over the line even if there’s genuine interest, seem to be dawdling in the market

Has a player ever moved half way through an ACL injury? Genuine question
