Who knows how much of that is true but will hold my hands up and admit I thought the links to him originally were one of those footybollocks rumours, given he played for Mikel’s old club and he’d just scored in the Euros days before.
Glad if the club were already tracking him previously to this summer.
IF he wants to come back to EPL and Arsenal is the only club going for him, it makes sense that Merino did not entertain Atletico (and/or Barca) at all.

My Spanish is pretty good but struggled not to use the subtitles on that one thanks to the speed he speaks haha and yeah I imagine Ode is probably pretty much fluent from his time there.
