Nobody ever names the players who are the alleged problem, sounds like deflection big time
And nobody tried to offload any of these players in the summer, as if they only realised in November that there was a shit attitude at this club.
They were trying to pin this kind of shit on guys like Guendouzi and Ozil, dumping them has certainly improved things :ozil:
The one they’ve tried to offload was Sokratis, who isn’t involved anyway. Arteta tried to make Ozil and Guendouzi, his Ronaldinho and Deco. Doesn’t work when those players have essential qualities your squad lacks.
Best day in our history. #InArtetaWeTrust #ArtetaIn
I think in this year the club as a whole went backwards quite a bit. That’s a long enough time period to realize that this wasn’t just a fluke and change is needed again.
Trust the process
I never understood why the board chose him above all the other top managers and no one has given me an explanation as to why he was the best option.
An absolutely astonishing decision to get someone so inept for such an important job.
The only reason we signed him is because of what he is holding in his hands and the fact he used to wear one as a player.
Because he has Kroenke’s nude pic, just like Willian has his??
Nah, no one is going to explain this.
It is what it is, damage is done, mistake was made.
The shit people ever learn, or neverxate.
Repeat and rinse.
Sigh. This happens all the time. Guardiola and Klopp got their first jobs at Barcelona and Mainz…the clubs they played for during their playing careers.
I wouldn’t put Mainz in the same bracket as us. Pep started in Barcelona B, so he had some experience in being in charge of team and tactics selection.
The only reason we signed him is because of what he is holding in his hands and the fact he used to wear one as a player.
Pretty much, plus they projected their deluded fantasies on to Arteta thinking they were getting a Pep x Wenger hybrid.
A club like Arsenal shouldn’t really be making such a critical appointments using flawed ideals. The reason we know why Henry or Vieira will never get close to the Arsenal job is because they’ve proven themselves to be limited coaches at a lower level
Sigh. This happens all the time. Guardiola and Klopp got their first jobs at Barcelona and Mainz…the clubs they played for during their playing careers.
That doesn’t make it right.
It was a lazy cheap choice by the board and now we’re paying for it.
There were no other clubs clamouring for his signature when he signed for us and there will be even fewer after this debacle.
Yeah they have just dug themselves a deeper and deeper hole.
Waiting too long to let Arsene gracefully move on…
Compounded by terrible hires in management and football operations - leading to Emery as successor.
Waiting too long to fire Emery when it was clear as day he was terrible and taking the club nowhere (queue the genius Bowie here… sorry man, he, and all successors since are indeed “taking us nowhere”).
Then panicking and jumping into Arteta instead (imho) of waiting until the summer when they could properly pick the next manager from the biggest possible pool of top guys (we will never know if Poch was willing to come, Mou was never an option, lots had reservations about Allegri, etc… and even in a mid-year where there WERE some big managers available, we went for Lego-brain (I mean hair… err… I mean brain).
Now again, probably going to wait too long to pull the plug… if we were wallowing in 15th or 16th but at least were showing signs of some sort of progression foot ballistically (granted, hard to imagine those two things together) and maybe shepherding in new era of youth (playing promising young guns more instead of wasters like Willian, not persisting with zero-man Xhaka, etc.), then you know what? At least I would give a f*ck at this moment.
But right now we are dire in every possible way and our best player is out of sorts and will be 32 heading into next season. It is really hard to get excited at all - about anything AFC with this knob in charge (and yes, management above, including long-departs Gaz-bomb and Raul Eating and ownership deserve tons of blame).
They have got everything wrong. Freddie was a mistake because I’m sure they wanted him till look after the side till May. Fact was though he was useless too and we panic moved to Arteta.
Nah I don’t believe for a second Freddie was ever in consideration for long-term appointment and rightfully so (not).
If the club expected Freddie to cope until the end of the season with the club doctor and Per as his assistants, then we are more fucked than I thought.
No I meant he wasn’t good enough to get us to summer.
Not his fault but he was out his depth. Hence the panic to Arteta.
Christ know where we panic too next though.
How do those two things change the point that nepotism is everywhere in the world of football?
I wonder if you’d think this way if we appoint (another) undeserving or inexperienced manager but that does work out. I reckon in that case you will not post in every thread how we shouldn’t hire said manager because lack of inexperience etc
.
