Decent choice, I didnt really have any preferences but to sign a manager who was a very intelligent player who knows how he likes his teams to play is a definitely bonus.

I just know I’m going to be fuming when he plays Xhaka Musfafi Luiz and Ozil in his first game, haha.

The only thing that I can be excited about here is the blind hope that Arteta can bring some of the team pressing, discipline and work ethic that Pep’s teams are famous for.

As a former midfielder, I am hoping he quickly addresses the way we build attacks, and improves significantly on the movement / interplay in those central areas.

To be fair, on paper, our list of players doesn’t actually look that bad. There is a lot of quality in there.

TBF, Arteta may be such a personality. We dunno as there is zero track record to go on.

I do agree that Arsenal need a manager with a strong personality to help root out the weak mentality of many of the players–turning that around is almost as important as better tactics and a defensive setup that works.

As a fan, if it’s Arteta, I hope that he really is the up and comer. Don’t want to continue being miserable following an underperforming team in a tailspin.

Looks okay with the first 3 or 4 names and then it falls off a cliff, but I don’t think that’s something wr should be upset about. City have spent over one billion on their squad, and we haven’t so yeh our team should look quite shit compared to theirs tbh.
