Matteo Guendouzi

It kind of does. At least for the club in question. None bar Lich have been consistently bad for us. Emery was a flop, his tactics were bad, he was bad it was all just bad.

Guendouzi is one of the most overrated players about. He had no business starting for a serious club with eyes at CL football, the guy was a defensive liability with zero nous in the defensive third.

Considering we are back to square one in terms of midfield, I do consider Torreira & Guendonzi experiment a flop even if they did make individual contributions.

Getting the right player at the time would have saved us 2 season worth of gametime

Also zero contribution in the attacking third.

Basically a specialist at running floppily around, demanding the ball, and getting into physical scraps in the middle third.

Was also a bit shit off the ball when the team had possession.

What’s also true is that he’s a good athlete, with excellent technique and an ability to play forward.

Torreira, Willock and Elneny are worse.

Elneny yes, Xhaka no. Do some research about the Xhaka transfer Wenger didn’t have a say in it. Anyways it was fine under Wenger because he actually managed good football and had these doods playing a level or two above what they are. We don’t have that luxury now. Although I will admit Xhaka was actually so shit that even tho Wenger had him fooling our fans for the most part, he was the catalyst of the club dropping from perennial top 4 to a mid table club. Once again tho that’s a Gazidis buy not Arsene :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Arteta isn’t innocent in all this. First off he’s a liar and so are the club so whatever they say on the matter can’t be taken seriously, but a better leader could make this into a teaching moment and bring him back into the fold. The fact Arteta is making him a villain says to me that Arteta is more of a vindictive type person than an actual leader of men.

If Guen just stopped being a little bitch, I think Arteta could improve him 10 fold. There is a place for him in the current system. Would rather Guen than Elneny ffs.

Maybe, hard for any of us to say based on what we know, which is very little.

I’m sure that Arteta didn’t want an extra headache to deal with, and probably fully intended it to be a teaching moment as you put it, but it still requires Guendouzi to offer some sort of apology in respect of his managers authority for that to happen.

If he let’s this Sideshow Bob looking kid who has achieved precisely fuck all in football just mug him off and get reintroduced because it’s more convenient to do so then his authority and stature just collapses in the eys of other players. He needs them to respect him and buy into what he’s trying to achieve, that’s hugely undermined if he’s already shown players that they can get away with murder and get back in the side without even atoning. I don’t think he can afford to look like a soft touch if he’s going to banish the loser mentality that’s been associated with the club for years now.

I accept that my view isn’t anything more than that, hut Arteta has my full backing on this issue.

Stop talking horseshit, Xhaka said Wenger had called him to convince him to join Arsenal a whole year before we bought him

What are we? a Nursery?

I fucking hate this notion that a professional needs to be coddled & pampered by the club officials and staff, on top of earning thousands of dollars.
How easy do they want their life to be?

Just what is it Guendouzi has done in the first place?

French Passion Merchant. That’s all he’s done

Allegedly pissing about in training sessions after repeating being told to buy into them and starting a fight with another player

Link that story please.

Lellel wut? Bruh if you’ve ever had good management you tend to respect them because ur manager knows how to lead. If he’s a fake and a phony ppl can see right through that. Arteta so far from the sounds of it is a wanna be tough guy and he can fake his way through that act for a while but eventually the players will tire of it and give up on him.

Compare that with Wenger who was genuinely a good man and respected by all, and had genuine love for his players, and thats why nobody who played under him will ever have a bad thing to say about him and why he had such a long career.

Wenger absolutely loved Granit like a son.

I think its time to change ur name to FraudWeng_4LYFE

Fake news :joy::joy: What I’m saying is that Arsene didn’t do the leg work of scouting him. Before stat DNA Arsene was heavily involved in watching the players he had earmarked to sign. After Stat DNA he was not. Xhaka is a stat DNA guy so Wenger clearly closed the deal, but wasn’t involved in the talent evaluation. Like I said please do some research :face_with_hand_over_mouth::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

You’ve spent years saying Wenger had nothing to do with it and had no control over transfers at all, now you’re walking it back like “oh he helped close the deal, I’m just saying Wenger didn’t personally identify Xhaka by travelling to Germany to watch him in person twenty times”

Admire your balls trying to get away with it though lelelelel
