Except Guendouzi isn’t particularly good and wouldn’t have been wanted by many teams anyway. Fergie publically feuded with players and still got big money for the likes of Beckham and Ince.

The first sentence is purely your opinion and as for the second one well the market is very different now, we aren’t prime United and Arteta isn’t Fergie.
At the end of the day even if you think a player is -wrongly- shit, you still want to get every last penny out of him to reinvest in the squad. Guendou was obviously bought as an asset with the intention to develop then sell, just seems odd we’ve decided to fuck that for ourselves.
How though? If he’s made to train on his own as a punishment because he’s being disruptive to the club, then how would you hide that from the media considering every training session is recorded and photo graphed.
Tell him not come into training for the next 3 weeks because he’s done at this club. Tell the media he’s dropped due to tactical/illness/ozil reasons.

That’s nonsense. You do realize that most teams can’tproceed with signings right now? Madrid had to get their players to get a wage cut. Perez admitted he won’t be spending big this window. Valencia are selling Parejo for under 10m. Barca are swapping Arthur with Pjanic. Inter are looking to offload Skriniar. The market isn’t at its best state. Only some PL clubs are actually at a position where they can do a bit more.
You may not like Guendouzi but he’s clearly rated highly, he was handpicked to replace Pogba in the French NT. All that competition and they picked Guendouzi. Aouar is still waiting for that.

Eugh whether you rate him or not this is such a lazy strawman argument, is Auba good, why has no-one swooped in and signed him yet.
Clubs like Barca and PSG are showing interest in Guendou but no one expects any deals to happen quickly or even at all in this climate. At 21 years of age I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t see the potential in Guendouzi, he fits a profile of CM that just isn’t that common in football right now.

He may have taken the position vacated by Pogbas injury but this seems quite a jump. He didn’t even come on as a sub.
Yea the market isn’t at his best state but if he’s as highly rated as you believe someone will take a 20-30m punt on him. It’s not allot of money in modern football. If no ones offering that it shows where his stock is.
That’s fair but the point is that they could have brought anyone. That NT has such talent pool that players beg just to be in the squad. He’s been highly rated there for a while, even when he was at Lorient. City were very interested before we signed him.
We don’t want to sell Auba, he’s 31, we’d want 60m+, he’d want 250k a week for 3 years
We do want to sell Guen, we won’t ask for a large fee, he’s on lowish wages, he’s young
I don’t see any evidence Barca or PSG have any interest in Guen. So far his one offer is from Emery.

Ok, ask yourself this. What top clubs need a midfielder right now? Given the situation these top clubs have a limited budget. Are they really gonna invest that on a position they’re probably not interested in and on a lad who as per his club is a knobhead and a pain in the ass?
There will be plenty of clubs buying midfielders this summer. If they buy other midfielders instead of Guen, it’s because they rate them higher

Advancing the ball from midfield to the final 3rd. Basically the job that Arteta has Xhaka doing for us, well actually now he’s given that job to Luiz. So yeh since u mentioned metrics, Guendo is better than Xhaka in the metrics of that job, distance passed and distance carried. He puts in more tackles and interceptions too.

I can’t make that picture bigger but if I remember rightly that’s essentially ball carrying and long passes right? That isn’t high level of midfielding for my money
