Matteo Guendouzi

2 years left on his deal, it’s not a bluff.

There’s no way he signs another contract here after the alleged interest from various top clubs anyway.

I support the club/Arteta on this decision 100%

Never seen us be this decisive before, at least I can’t think of a situation like this at Arsenal before where we have such a promising youngster and the management/upper management ready to sell for a (hopefully) good fee. Interesting!

If we could get the kind of money that’s talked about whenever he’s mentioned then I think it’s a no brainer to sell. If you could get £50m for him right now, how many good midfielders out there with a bit more experience could you buy for the same amount straight away?

He’s a prospect but I really don’t think he’s a sure thing. I’m not confident that we’re witnessing the birth of a superstar and this is going to end up being a £100m player in 3 years time. He’s looked good, but I was more impressed with the first 18 months of Wilshere, Ramsey and Chamberlain and those are all players who I ended up going off of once they got further along in their development (and injuries, to be fair).

I remember there was this notion that if we ever wanted to we could sell Wilshere to someone like City for £40m no problem because everyone would want a player that good, but as his career went on that time came and went and we could barely give him away toward the end. For all we know in 3 years time he could be another player we’re trying to loan to Turkey.

This is one of our weakest aspects as a club. Tottenham has had several doods with contracts running down who wanted to leave and they pulled some voodoo magic and got them to sign extensions. Or the way lolpool convinced Suarez to stay and then procured a much bigger fee from that situation. We need to learn to deal with malcontents better and then move them on when we can extract the maximum in transfer fee’s.

Sell and don’t look back.

He is talented but not exceptionally so and doesn’t seem that interested in doing the things necessary to realize his potential.

He has a lot of good points. But he also has a few bad points.

If he’s not willing to work on his bad ones, then what can you do?

Even AMN seems to have swallowed his pride and is getting with the programme, I mean ffs Aubameyang is a world class striker but is happy running up and down the wing like a Samuel Eto’o 2010.

So whatever he is doing, it’s not a good look. If he’s not putting the work in to improve himself and become one of the best midfielders in the world here, then what can you do?

And anyways, if he stays or if we get more than £7m for him, he will have been a resounding success here.

Can’t ask for much more.

I hope we can get maybe £40/50m.

Isn’t this what we wanted, to make decisions on players with 2 years left on contract?

Look at it this way, people thought BVB were crazy to sell Dembele and it’s totally worked out for them.

I don’t think Guendouzi is as talented as Dembele and the market won’t support Arsenal squeezing a club like Barcelona but maybe PSG want to cough up 40m for him? Maybe he’d thrive in Madrid? Idk. I do like that the club are being decisive even if I really like the player.

Which players are you talking about?

Another sign that the new regime/management aint messing around.

I support Arteta and the club with this one, Guendouzi’s had ample opportunities to do what is asked of him, whether it’s just an apology or a bit of introspection. Why’s he finding that so hard?

I think someone made a point about the players he would probably interact with/look up to like Auba, Laca etc. I wonder how much they have tried to talk sense to him? Everyone seems so on board with Arteta so the older guys are likely siding with Arteta, but the whole situation is a massive shame.

Rose and Alderwield.

I believe the whole thing is out of proportion.
We can handle the whole situation internally, and no need to make it as a soap opera.

I don’t think anybody thought this tbh

Rose hasn’t signed.

Vertonghen is out this summer. Dier and Rose in 2021. Lamela, Aurier and Lloris in 2022. These cunts have plenty of work to do too.

The Dortmund fans were pretty pissed about it but I guess that had more to do with some perceived lack of loyalty.
