If Cunha signing for us means we don’t get a Gykores or Isaak quality signing in the next window, then we should wait because this is obviously a panic buy.
Cunha is not the game changer we need to take us to the next level but if he’s a replacement for Jesus or Trossard as cover for a top quality striker, then it’s good business.
I agree with this. He isn’t that top quality addition we need at either LW or as a left No.8 and he doesn’t solve the backup/rotation issue for Saka. I would much sooner us go for the striker we really want this window, and seek a loan for another attacking player. Then go big again on attack and seek an out and out winger and an attacking midfielder.
The only way I could get behind this is if his transfer fee drops considerably and we get him on the cheap. I fear for the fees being referenced we impact what we then are able to do in the summer.
A player that can produce special moments. Can definitely become a better player at Arsenal.
Having watched a lot of him this season, he definitely gives you the output but then again Wolves tend to attack freely whereas Arsenal are more systematic in their approach. Does this limit Cunha? I don’t know.
Cunha has a tendency of losing the ball as well - he isn’t the ideal profile id go for and I certainly hope this doesn’t stop us from signing Sesko in the summer. Right now we need bodies and Cunha depth wise does make sense.
As a LW and competing with Martinelli, I’d be pleased. But if this is our CF signing then underwhelming.
Prediction: he extends his stay at Wolves with a relegation clause or he moves to Chelsea on a long term deal.
I wouldn’t trust his info anyway. I’ve read a lot about him and he actually used to work with Gabriel Jesus as part of his entourage but ended up screwing him over in regards to some money. He has a terrible rep now, very well-known in the industry as a judahs.
