Mason Mount

This is the worst news I’ve heard all day.

Erm, it’s not actually him.

Although, if you told me they’re related I would buy it.

You fell for this? :arteta3:

There is much better out there imo.

Agreed @Pires

Why is Edu always wanting to stack up mid from Chelsea.

Not the video, the article.

I saw that kid outside Finsbury Park station last night and thought exactly the same thing

Hes a dead ringer!!

Welcome Mason

Orny like I’d better fabricate something up in case there’s anything in these rumours.
Literally anyone could make this sort of case.

Interesting, I’d like to see the internal evaluation that places Mount ahead of Maddison for the same role

Mount would finish in the top 10 of the London marathon lol.

I get the feeling we want a high energy player in this role to elevate us further.

Mount actually seems like a really good fit for Newcastle. Think he’s perfect for them because their whole system is based on bullying you with their insane endurance in midfield.

It’s worth noting admiration and having exploratory discussions with him won’t mean much if Chelsea set an unrealistic valuation for him, or he seeks a massive contract from us, both of which I can definitely see, and it will absolutely turn the club off.

One of those where beforehand you look at his Chelsea season and think he’s been abysmal but then so have their entire team apart from Thiago Silva and possibly Kovacic. Form wise there’s no case for bringing him in but if there’s a genuine belief the situation will change in a healthier environment there’s an exciting player there. The one aspect of his game Maddison lacks comparatively is defensive and that’s a must in our 8 position. Mount might be more suited to creating from slightly deeper than in and around the box like Odegaard.

One thing about an in form Mount is he’s a massive goal threat and a genuine set piece taker.

Personally I still favour Caicedo for the 8 than an attacking mid because I prefer us locking down the midfield and winning the ball further up the pitch when we still have Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Jesus, Trossard in these positions further forward.

MAURICIO POCHETTINO faces a massive uphill battle to keep Mason Mount at Chelsea.

The incoming boss has targeted the £60million-rated midfielder’s contract stand-off as one of his main priorities when he takes over at the end of this season.

But SunSport understands Pochettino’s arrival is coming too late to save negotiations and one of Chelsea’s most popular players looks set to leave his boyhood club after 18 years.

Mount, 24, has barely a year left on his deal and talks are at loggerheads after ten months.

SunSport can reveal Mount was offered a one-year extension by Chelsea in February but this was flatly rejected and seen as a ploy simply to raise his transfer fee.

Relations between the player’s representatives and the club are at an all-time low and Pochettino needs a “miracle” to turn it round.

A Blues source said: “It feels like it is too late now for Mason.

“Pochettino is good but he can’t work miracles.

“If he had been brought in when Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel in September then maybe it would be a different story.

“But in ten months there hasn’t been any resolution and other clubs want him. Good luck to Poch and Mason but we’re not hopeful.”

Mount is injured but eyeing a return for the final two games this season — at Manchester United then home to Newcastle on May 28.

That could well be the end of the England star’s Blues journey, which started when he was six.

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal have been strongly linked with interest in Mount.

And Chelsea will sell if he does not sign a new deal as they do not want him leaving for free at the end of next season.

Poch has agreed to take over from caretaker boss Frank Lampard but will wait until next month to officially take the reins.

Former Tottenham chief Pochettino had an interview when Tuchel was axed in September but chairman Todd Boehly opted for Graham Potter.

Potter was dismissed in April and Lampard came in.

Poch is seen as one of the best in the business but wants a big say in matters and will have to oversee a mass clearout to balance the books.

Fuck this guy, but also, we could have definitely used him today.

£85m for Mason Mount is a hilarious unrealistic figure that not even Boehly could surely believe was obtainable lmao

Looks like Boehly is just as capable of doing the shit he did in January, but in reverse.

Absurd fee. The market really is fucked.

Leave it up to Utd to go in with a bid like this. That’s Arsenal and Liverpool out of the race, neither club is gonna enter a bidding war with those fools.

I guess we now turn our attention to Kudus.
