Martin Ødegaard (c) (8)

In trouble. I am in big, big trouble.

Not at all. As a way of placing Ozil in your ratings of best attacking midfielders if we were to give Bergkamp a rating of 98/100 because he was the GOAT. What rating would you give Ozil?

Decent performance imo. Took the sting out of the game, helped us control the ball and took away their momentum early on.

In a difficult away match in Europe at the QF stage, that’s exactly what you need.

I feel like he’s building up slowly. Obviously when we’re at home in the next 2 games, we’d like to see more creativity but delivered appropriately tonight.

Annoying as fuck today. Seems genuinely incapable of playing a progressive pass.

We had control for the most part but not a lot more than that.

Would rather Eze

At one point Rice got annoyed at him too and literally told him to move forward lol.

Should’ve at least hit the target in the first half and never really clicked.

Taking their time at Arsenal in isolation, I’d rather have Cesc over Ozil all day long.

His best was at Madrid. His Arsenal career was in two parts. Thought he was unreal during his first contract. Up there with my favourite players ever to watch here. Wasn’t surrounded with enough quality. Ability wise, he was as good as any but as an Arsenal player, nowhere near Bergkamp.

Despite that, he was closer to Bergkamp that Odegaard is to him.

Would anyone not?

Cesc is the best player of the Emirates Era. I’d rather watch Ozil but Cesc was better for us. They should have been playing together. That still burns.

Christ, I read that wrong. I thought you said Odegaard, not Ozil.

Well, then it becomes tight. For what is worth they’re both in my all time favourite XI.

Odegaard’s shot was on target tonight, keeper kept it out, but I agree he’s still looking a bit lost out there and is unlikely to fulfill his early promise now.

Though I was calling for Martinelli to go a few nights ago and was pissed off with Havertz too, so it shows what I know.

Odegaard is a bum. Two games back and it’s grass cutter shots and playing pointless passes in our own half. It’s not good enough.

Useful to give players a rest in a few games time maybe.

:pires2:

Ray Wilkins (RIP) loved sideways passes so much he was nicknamed “The Crab”.

Does our captain have a nickname yet?

I’ve got a few…

And you got people thinking Odegaard is the new scapegoat. Even his own team-mates are showing visible frustration.

It’s as if his hips are totally isolated since jumping on the vegan diet. This is supposed to be one of our most creative players on the pitch.

Wow.

That’s a truly sad, depressing, awful football sequence.

He gets the ball 3 times, 3 fucking times there and never for once thinks about turning forward with it.

Has the balls of an amoeba.

Absolutely truly never captain material. Never was. Never will be.

A shit player too atm.

I would like to see the wider view, its really hard to know without seeing how the block is set up.

In general, this is a bad location on the field to try to turn with the ball between the defenders and make something happen. Even if you successfully turn you’re miles from goal, likely to get closed down quickly from all sides, and you still need to beat the entire block. I would kill him a lot more for doing this between the midfield and defensive lines.

Odds of a bad turnover are higher here than creating a dangerous situation.

Been a dead baller for two years now. Play’s like a #6 in an attacking position.
