Manchester United

That was when Man U not only had all the best players on the payroll but also the ref.

No I don’t think any player is worth that money.

Ajax has been making an absolute fortune over the last few years selling off their players for incredible sums.

As for Antony, let’s say there is a special United tax

Wenger was crafty with his post-match summary. Without naming Fletcher, he asked how a player can get away with a number of fouls without getting booked

Same, one of my all time favorites.

Clearly Antony has great technical ability, but his stats aren’t particularly special for the Eredivisie.

£85m is a fucking crazy sum. How can a dude with those numbers go for that much?

There’s no way he can’t be an incredible player. Not even an above average player justifies that price tag.

Arshavin was fucking brilliant. Feel he was wasted on the wing though.

Yeah Wenger should have shifted him to a Messi like striker or maybe even midfield.

I want this Anthony transfer to go down worse than Pepe
I hope he is more Obertan than Salah

Heck I want him to be their next Martial

He will flop.

Pepe but eredivisee

He was arguably the most in form attacking midfielder in Europe when we signed him. He was a one man army at Zenit. Playing him on the left took away a lot of his assets.

Good round-up of what Antony will bring to United. From the little of seen of him, he’s strikes me as an intelligent player who keeps the ball well. Close control is excellent and capable of twisting his man inside out, but it’s his decision-making that stood out for me.

Jon Mackenzie says that Antony likes to take up this position. I’ve seen him play this ball in behind several times. Requires a runner but his execution is that of a top player.

Not a £100m player but he’s a good signing. 9 goals and 9 assists in my prediction for him.

Well he wasn’t going to displace Fabregas or stymy Wilshere’s development plus Wenger seemed to favor at least one midfielder playing on the wind.

That Arshavin goal against Netherlands at Euro 2008 was brilliant. Was great in the whole tournament to be honest.

I like Cesc when he played in the deeper role. When he first broke though. Easier on the eye better dribbler and a lot quicker. As a teenage sensation. ,funny enough young cesc was rated a bit more than Xavi and Iniesta back then. … it would have been valid. But about fabregas I can’t really blame Wenger for putting him further forward in the long term . The stats say it all . And he that point didn’t have the physical requirements to play higher up the pitch. Pressing & wing overloads.

I remember watching that game live and losing my mind when Mike Dean was being Mike Dean and then celebrating when Arshavin scored a golazoo.

But yeah, F Man U. Wish they would struggle for the next 20 years.
