He loses that dressing room completely if they go out. Or become the scapegoat
Either way he’s done once the CL over. Be in everyone interest to get it sorted I’d imagine.
Because United specifically are known for having a lot of fans with no association to the team or area other than simply bandwagoning on a good team.
Yeah, people can support who they want, just as others can dislike people who support team purely due to success.
I thought the PSG performance in the 1st leg was promising tbf. I thought they’d turn up a incoherent mess. (Suppose there’s still time for that)
They haven’t had any success lately though. So it’s sort of genuine support IMO especially when your biggest opponents City and Liverpool are the teams taking over.
And yes I am bias because I grew up in NZ and supported Arsenal because of my British father and got shit from my mates who were all United and Chav fans because those teams were good at the time.
Just saying that’s the basis of why people generally feel that way about United fans.
I know what the basis is, it’s just stupid. Travelling 500+ miles to watch your club who haven’t won a league title in nearly a decade and haven’t have any meaningful success in years is a sign of real dedication to the cause.
Just think it’s a tired old line now that needs to die. It’s completely natural that successful clubs will entice young children to support them and they grow older and become life long fans of the club regardless of the clubs standing in the game over time.
M
So then you already know the answer to the question you were asking lol the other thing is that perhaps it’s just funny that United fans travelled a long way and their team played shit.
Unless you live in the Uk you wouldn’t understand. Long standing joke that there are more Man U fans in Essex and Kent than there are in Manchester itself .
There are so many things to mock them about but having fans from far away is a weird one, especially for someone who supports a club with a huge international following.
I was trying to gauge his specific disdain for it so I could challenge the reasoning and rationale. It’s a stupid reason to dig at United fans because it’s a really old school and washed out idea.
And my initial question wasn’t specific to United fans it was a generalised question. When I responded to you I was responding to the idea about United fans specifically.
Not only do I live in the UK, I was born in the UK. In South East London.
United have probably the largest global fan base in the world so digging at fans for making a 500+ mile round trip or attending their first game however many years into their life just seems like a really bizarre stick to beat them with.
Be interesting to know how many posters here live in London, saying that although i have been supporting Arsenal for many years i would love a chance to go see them play again as i haven’t been for years.
But I’m gonna be in Italy in May hoping to see Napoli take the title and Catania’s last home game so that’s a few kms racked up.
United been the best supported team in the country since the 70s.
Had the biggest average attendance the year they went in the old second division in the 70s.
I’d say it’s been since the Busby Babes era.
Probably. Always had a huge Irish following too.
Take a chill pill for fucks sake
Who’s angry? Because it certainly isn’t me lol
I dunno
lol
Sorry, I wasn’t fully sure if your question was of that nature, or was somewhat rhetorical, or if you were asking generally.
I’m not saying I fully agree with the sentiment but I definitely understand it having grown up in the circumstances I described above.
At the end of the day, there is heaps of shit football fans do which is stupid lol
