Manchester City*

Has anyone actually seen footage of their ceremony and them lifting the title?

Lots of people left the stadium and didn’t even bother watching

That’s crazy

I work with one, and he’s a proper fan too, since childhood.

He’s very ambivalent about the money and success.

Is he from Manchester?

Funnily enough yes.

At least they have that over Utd fans. :pires2:

All these tales of c:poop:ty fans crawling out of the woodwork to claim they were there when they were shit. :man_shrugging:t3:

Similar situation here, got a good mate who is born and raised in Manchester and been a City fan his whole life (he’s about 30 now so obviously well before the oil money).

Honestly, he is one of the most knowledgeable football fans I know and like myself is up at crazy hours throughout the season to watch every game.

And yeah, very humble about the success. Obviously happy to have it but none of this Twitter flexing nonsense.

I know a few other City fans who are 100% bandwagoners, terrible people to talk ball with, same as Chav and United fans over here.

Without wanting to sound like a broken record, the issue with Man City isn’t really whether they’re going to be punished for breaking rules, but whether they’re going to be punished for a THIRD time. They’ve already been done twice, in 2014 and 2020

Their FFP breaches before their 2014 punishment were so egregious, and massive, that several UEFA employees / contractors resigned or said they’d never work for UEFA again when they weren’t handed a Champions League ban. This is public domain info

In 2020 they were fined 10m euros for non-cooperation and though no City “experts” will ever share this, expert witnesses from both sides testified that there was insufficient disclosure to rule on disguised funding. Read it for yourself: https://www.tas-cas.org/fileadmin/user_upload/CAS_Award_6785___internet__.pdf

Then three YEARS ago a High Court judge was scathing about the delaying tactics Man City had employed to stymie the Premier League’s investigation. After we (the MoS) had taken action to force “open justice”, AKA basic transparency

Whatever happens with the 115, there is already an established pattern of cheating and non-compliance by Man City back to the early FFP years. There has been SO MUCH bullshit about FFP being a “cartel” creation. FFS - do some basic research

We all know what City did. It’s been in plain sight for 10-12 years. It was reported at the time. It’s been reported ever since. It was punished at the time. It’s been punished since. They, like senior figures in the Tory Govt of recent years, decided rules didn’t apply to them.

I’ve written these stories, since 2013-14. How and why City (wilfully) failed FFP in 2014, informed by City insiders. Before anyone had ever heard of Football Leaks. How Infantino brokered a let-off. How City felt money and lawyers would win the day. And they still might.

Anyway, short story much longer than intended: Man City have already been found guilty, TWICE, of irregular financial activity, and served two penalties, in 2014 and 2020. We already know why, in great detail. The 115 charges aren’t a new thing. They’re merely round 3.

Pep Guardiola IS a genius (as well as someone who failed drugs tests as a player). City’s squad IS packed with astonishingly talented players. They ARE an amazing team. And today’s side was built on foundations put in place in 2011-13 that demonstrably broke rules.

I’m sure I don’t need to point this out to any sane reader / follower (Blue Moon members obviously excepted on that basis), but I don’t make the Premier League rules, and never have.

Man City has got about the same amount of pull and atmosphere as the Moon so It’s rather appropriate they chose it for that embarrassing video.

Technically it’s an exosphere. It’s a super thin layer of gasses that rarely collide.
