The court case is going to revolve around a bunch of shit that is clearly unethical and completely violated at least the spirit of FFP. The question is going to be whether City’s army of million pound lawyers can convince the judges that technically these actions didn’t violate the rules of the PL as they were written at the time 10 years ago because the rules weren’t sufficiently clear or contained wordings that opened up loopholes and room for interpretation, etc etc etc.

We all know they blatantly cheated. But that’s not really what the case will hinge upon.

They are completely guilty.

If they get off will depend on filibustering and corruption

That’s how it has dragged this long anyways

It will be absolutely disgraceful if the PL let them get away with it. They should be stripped of titles and relegated.

If the PL botch this, I think more supporters may come around to the idea of a super league. If it’s all going to be about money, then join a different league. Screw the PL.

Part of me wants them to get away with it, if it compels the other 19 clubs to leave the EPL and form their own new league lol.

Because it’s that easy.

I do think in case of a settlement where they do avoid heavy punishment, clubs will be up PL’s ass.

Its not really in the PL’s hands anymore but I think the league leadership is rooting heavily for a guilty verdict and a significant punishment.

Not only do you look like a dumbass if you levy 115 charges and none are sustained, but an exoneration will only encourage other clubs to break rules going forward while also increasing the likelihood that Pep stays and keeps the league in a destructive cycle of City domination.

City will never have credibility

Think the best thing City can do is delay the punishment as much as they can and take advantage of having Pep around.

They receive the punishment in 2025 and then they have a ready made escape ship with Girona to jump into.
I haven’t thought of a scenario where they flog all their key players there. That’s what Chelsea do with Strasbourg with any of the youngsters that are surplus, no?

That’s essentially been their strategy the whole time - delay, deny, delay, deny, delay, delay, delay.

I have no idea what they would do squadwise if they got relegated. When Juve got relegated most of their biggest players stayed but I think they had a lot more loyalty to the club. I feel like most of City’s biggest players are far more loyal to Pep than they are to the club itself and if he is leaving they wouldn’t necessarily want to stick around to play in the Championship for a year, then miss out on CL, then start a new uncertain project once back in the PL.

I don’t know a single person who supports City

Do they actually exist? Is this a facade from the media that City fans do in fact exist? :pires2:

The only mentality we don’t have is if being shameless cheaters.

Play this on loop at colney this summer

Just factually incorrect anyway, we didn’t play for a draw and had the better chances despite them having more of the ball.

If he wants to ignore the fact it was a good performance from his team, just to wind us up, that’s fine big lad.

His logic is faulty, at that time Liverpool was 1st and City was 3rd. Draw was advantageous to us in cancelling them gaining on us in the table. We were in a better position in the table. That result wasn’t costly.

Having a go at us after he’s just won the league. You’re the one who has problems with mentality, you thick prick.

He’s a well known bitter prick. Ignore him.

He’s graceless in victory and defeat. It’s why he’s probably the only player I wish injury on. Dickhead absolutely deserves it.

I actually know 4, my Uncle was born in Manchester and has supported Man City all his life and so my 2 cousins are City fans as well, plus my boss at work is a Man City fan (I think he’s a glory hunter though, he’s from Nepal and most likely picked them as his English team as they were on top)

but my Uncle has seen City from when they were terrible as well
