Manchester City*

The advertisements usually quickly finish me. I will make an exception if Leeds get relegated tbh.

Very interesting meeting considering the ongoing investigation…

To those who are still hopeful on sanctions.

Not as good this season wasn’t it ? That was the talk from some parts whilst we led the league.

This is probably the best of Pep’s teams post 09-11 Barcelona

Apart from that Lottery Barça squad he had, this is the pinnacle.

Peak Sane and Sterling iteration is the best of the City lot IMO

Yup, was just saying something similar in the CL thread.

Its also the tactically simplest and by far the most physical team he has had at City, which maybe isn’t a coincidence. Three athletic defenders and two very physical defensive midfielders to collectively snuff out counterattacks, two inverted wingers who are excellent at retaining the ball and cutting inside to create, a battering ram Viking freak of a striker, and two brilliant veteran attacking midfielders, one of whom is a generational player. None of this constantly tinkering with the formation and the squad or intricate overload plans with Cancelo popping up anywhere on the pitch. Its keeping it simple and relatively predictable (at least by Pep’s standards) and daring anybody to come up with a way to stop it. Nobody has so far.

Amazing what a blank cheque can do for you

Nah I think this one has the perfect blend of athletic power and technical brilliance. They’re just superb and so well prepared for Europe. Mentally, physically they are just above anyone in Europe the gap is so wide.

They weren’t as good by mid-February really. That rally cry from Pep was absolutely genius and totally paid off. They pretty much went on a totally different level.

A big reason why people thought it was Arsenal’s to lose was not only that we were doing well, but City were also not that convincing.

Their patterns of play when they decide to turn it on now is truly unstoppable.

I have no doubt their form has affected our lads. I don’t think they expected City to reach these levels.

Liverpool fans who think they competed with “this” City are well mistaken. This City is on Centurion and Invincible course.

If they produce these levels next season it’s gonna be long. I have a feeling they won’t.

Chelsea are 11th with one, try again.

We should just throw everything in to win the league Cup next season, nobody has got a chance with anything else until Pep packs it in lol

Man City are cheating cunts who have breached 100+ FFP laws since 2009 and shouldn’t even be in this competition or the prem. That do it for you?

Feels weird saying proud but fuck it I am. We took the best team in the world on for 7 months of a 9 month league season. Incredible they are making Real Madrid look like Swansea lol

Chelsea and United spend just as much, so it isn’t money alone.

Chelsea and United haven’t been charged with breaking FFP laws

I actually think we had the right idea in how we tried to play against them, we just didn’t have the personnel without Saliba and with Partey in catastrophic form.

You can’t sit back against this team and let them have 75% of the ball, the only way is to try and get them into an end to end helter skelter match and hope their age shows eventually or you’re a bit luckier converting your chances than they are with their chances.

I’ve just been writing about that today on some other place.

By far the most balanced and Champions League competitive team Pep assembled since that Barca.

Nahh.

Attacking wise that team was more exciting, and more productive long term, going through a league competition. But this team is hardly any less creative when you really need a goal in a crucial game. Seems they even have more options when creating, the danger comes from everywhere.

Defensively this team is miles better, more balanced and harder to break on the counter etc.

They’re just so freaking dense in the middle and always have enough players at the back with this formation… While still having plenty up front.

Potential treble this season.

Going for an unprecedented 4 consecutive EPL league titles next season, who’s betting against them ?
