I’ve said Arsenal win, but will probably be a 1-0 win to City. A dodgy refereeing decision, get it in while they still can get the money.

want an arsenal win, voted a draw but i think players are due a howler, the defence must be extremely tired after two back to back defensive masterpieces

I don’t feel inspired by that performance last night so finding this difficult to call but edging closer to a city win.

We really need to get lucky with Timber and Partey fitness here. Starting three huge away games in a week feels like we’re playing with fire now.

one source atm

They’ll just put Foden there. That’s the difference

Our defensive form has been sensational this season.

I back us to keep City out but we’ve been pretty poor taking advantage of turnovers. We’ll get a few of those against City but we need to be ruthless and efficient. Haven’t seen that this season yet. Maybe it clicks on Sunday?

It’s hardly rocket science but 0-0 would be a good result and I’d take that now. There will be moments of stress because City will create one big opportunity and will have loads of the ball.

But I trust our back 5 completely atm. Timber has completed the defensive unit to make us the best in that department in the league and Europe.

We should go to the Etihad confident we will not let a goal in and try to make the most of counters / set pieces. We will have a couple of moments, it’s just whether we take them.

The neutrals will want us to go for it, to beat City away and set a marker, especially after what Rodri said about our last meeting. But without Ode, I think our approach would be circumspect, even more than we were last time around. Just keep it tight at the back, play on the counter, and if we can sneak a goal, great. Realistically, a draw will be a great result. I know some pundits will say had we beaten City last season at the Etihad, we’d have won the league but that’s just absurd. We just have to make sure we don’t let that points gap widen. And if Inter can get a draw, we are more than capable.

And for God’s sake, can Mikel brief the players, in no uncertain terms, against picking up silly Yellow cards. Don’t want anyone walking on egg shells through the game.

3-0 city win, haaland with 2.

thanks for jinxing them :trossard:

Lock up Haaland, don’t let Rodri or Foden shoot.

No silly mistakes to give a goal away to one of their non-goal scorers.

it will be City’s offense vs Arsenal’s defense.
very tight game and most likely a 0-0 game, or just one goal to decide the winner.

How damaging would a loss be here? So early in the season.

It wouldn’t rule us out of the race completely. The “race” is still very much in its infancy.

Thinking on the negative side (a defeat), we’ll have chalked off the toughest away fixture in the league, and we’ve managed to haul ourselves back into the title race from more precarious positions in both 22/23 and 23/24.

That being said, we don’t stand a better chance (in terms of momentum) of winning at Eastlands than we do this season.

like you said, so early in the season. a loss would be bad but not going to be as crucial as you think.

A win would obviously be great, not just to go above them in the league but to stop them going the season undefeated, although a low scoring draw would be good and certainly better for us than them.

It’s not the end of the world but it would mean we would need to get to the home fixture relatively unscathed AND beat them at home.
