If that’s true it’s a very bad piece of business.
Torreira is one of the few players that we have that has value, so sell him for as much as we can and then use the money to put towards buying a quality midfielder.
This way we lose a decent player and get no money to replace him which makes us even weaker in a position we’re already poor in.

Atletico have a billionaire ownership, spent €100m+ on an 18 year old last summer. There’s no way they can’t afford €25m for Torreira I don’t care about the climate.

We also have a billionaire owner who could afford to get us what we need but he doesn’t care much for football as has been proved since he bought us.

Only Arsenal could mismanage this situation in such a special way. Kudos to Atleti for unsettling the player while simultaneously preventing Arsenal from getting enough money to activate the release clause for Partey.
