Was he on the pitch tonight?
Thought he was very good in the first half. Him and Xhaka were surprisingly sharp in their passing and calmness. Once Chelsea truly started exploring our defence in the second half they crumbled like cookies.
He’s been mismanaged all season imo.
Yep, yep. A good manager allows him to develop as a #6. Emery has been playing with him for a while, not allowing him to settle in a formation/position, esp. growing some bad habits as an #8.
Smh @BigWeng_4LYFE look how they’re massacring my boy
Playing him up front to gimp his development to accommodate Xhaka ffs.
He’s not as good as I first hoped he’d be, he’s still young and got a bit to work with and one of our smaller problems though.
Yeah I think some of us like myself who thought he was the second coming of Christ in the first few months have been humbled over the course of the season. The major issue was fatigue after the Christmas period I think, but his performances have never quite recovered since then.
Hopefully he comes back next season fresh and ready to prove himself because I think his potential is still very high.
He’s such an exceptional ball winner, but I’ve said from the start he’s no Santi. What’s really infuriating is that he’s being shoe horned into a position that he shouldn’t be playing because of the shitter Xhaka. He’s a defensive midfielder, he should be deployed like Kante.
Deployed like Kante under Conte.
I hear he had a really bad game which sucks as he has overall been one of our better performers taken across the whole season.
Normally if Torreira isn’t at the races then we aren’t getting the win
Weren’t you watching?!
Nope at work
A few years ago I would’ve almost certainly been in Baku, now don’t even get to see them play a European final
Not sure about him honestly… better than a lot of our pathetic scrubs, but worried…
Oohh working late, are u a dancer?? ![]()

I really wouldn’t worry about Torreira’s development. He’s geared to play a #6 or and #8. I just worry that he flagged throughout the season, hopefully it’s just him getting to grips with the PL.
Torreira and Xhaka together is horrible to watch. They constantly occupy the same space. Its a tactical nightmare.
Torreira and Guendouzi is much more suited. I so badly wanted this combo to start in the final. Xhaka’s passing is overrated anyway. All he does is the simple pings out wide when fullbacks are in acres of space. Anyone can fucking do that, even Jonjo Shelvey.
Agreed.
Both Guen/Tor are much more suited in the middle given they are a lot more mobile than Xhaka. I haven’t watched the highlights of the game but first half, I didn’t see much wrong with Xhaka, but you could tell in the second half, Chelsea turnt the screw in the middle.
Put pressure on Xhaka and he faulters to maneuver himself out of the situation. Guendouzi is press resistant, to a degree, and Torreira is too. Both should improve in that respect with more games but it definitely highlights the need for us to bring in another CM and move away from this Xhaka-quarterback style of play.
We need a midfield maverick so badly.
Much more than a winger.
I think this is right… and it is a problem… but it is the same F*ing problem we can’t avoid with Xhakalamity being a key player for us… so hope he is gone this summer - if we sold him and Moose, I would at least have some faith that we aren’t lost in the woods completely.
Depends who’s watching hey
