Thought it was a promising debut and was unlucky at not getting a goal van Dijk just got there ahead of him.
He was pretty shit.
About as good as Theo does playing at CF.
Not the game to judge him properly
He looked a bit tired rather than slow perhaps? Wonder if he met a bit of a training shock coming here. We’ll see in the next few games. That flipper game with Özil that ended up with a blocked shot was promising though.
Why not?
I WANT HIM SOLD IN JANUARY
FRAUD
FUCKING FRAUD
Maybe because he’s just arrived at the club SUPER late and hasn’t had the opportunity to acclimatise with his teammates or the league?
Not a great idea of making a habit of buying players late in the window and then hoping they hit the ground running.
Today has been a wrong choice to put him into the XI. Paradoxically I would have understood to see him on attack at Parìs for a counterattack game, not today, not against a team like Southampton who play with the bus in front of the GK.
Or maybe us playing him most of the game, still getting the 3 points and getting as much match training as possible ahead of PSG is absolutely excellent management given the circumstances.
Two shots on target, it was a lucky escape.
To be frank, he was pretty rubbish. But first game, that’s ok.
Hey Lucas
Those backheels to nobody tho.
It’s like having Ramsey back early!
Pretty concerned, as I was when we signed him, that he’s not going to be able to unseat Giroud.
FFS he has played 60 minutes in a new league with new players that he barely knows and you are already writing him off, bloody hell Henry didnt sparkle for us straight away either. If at the end of the season he shows he is kinda poor then complain but give the guy a chance! Look how shit even Vardy was for Leicester then he exploded…lots of strikers take time to find their feet, even fucking Suarez took time to start banging them in for Liverpool!
Buy cheap, pay twice.
Or in our case just pretend the 9 shirt is cursed.
Jesus, give the guy a chance for fucks sakes, even the big names didnt shine straight away, let the guy get used to the team. We all want a player like Griezmann, but he didnt really shine until recently he wasnt all that prolific of fantastic until a couple of years ago, but was talented. I reckon this guy will be great for us and i just think he needs time!
Based on what exactly, no one knew who he was until a few weeks ago?
I’m still a little salty over not getting Vardy and like most on here I’m being a little tongue in cheek today with Lucas but I honestly can’t understand where all the blind optimism is coming from. Griezmann only came good 2 years ago? You mean when he was 23 lol? How dare he spend so long becoming one of the greatest forwards in the world.
It was a poor debut even despite of that trivial stuff about adjusting to team mates and new league. He’s 28 he’s been around Europe a bit so ‘adapting’ to English football should’t really be much of a big deal.
I think claims that the match didn’t suit him are valid in sense but still, his general play was pretty poor. At the very least you could expect a few more shots, better passing, better pressing in the final third and just generally more involved in a productive way.
But let’s not threw him under a bus just yet still plenty of football to play. Let’s see how he does with a better Ozil and Alexis
