Looking to Move out

They’re the same city, the clue is in the London part fella :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah but yeah, totally fair play, hear where you’re coming from. Sorry if you felt like I was forcing you to justify something that doesn’t require it haha. Part of living in London is having the right to have a good old whinge about it, comes with the (literal) territory

I can’t wait for remote working culture.

It will solve all the world issues.
Pollution, Work Life balance, less commute, real estate inflation, infrastructure issues, everything.

Rapid switch to work from home culture and we get ourselves closer to happiness on all levels

Haha yeah they’re the same city but it takes fucking 45 minutes to get anywhere here!! It takes me 35 minutes to get to Waterloo from Fulham and about 45 minutes to Blackfriars and no-one lives in those areas, so if we lived east we’d be commuting from further out than Waterloo/Blackfriars and it would probably take us at least an hour each way just to see friends or have dinner which is nuts lol

But yeah, sorry I just get a bit defensive sometimes because it’s a bit of a bug bear for me haha

I actually agree with the different sides of London bit despite my comment, it makes a big difference. My sister moved out to round Ealing way, when I still lived in Plumstead it legit took me almost two hours to get to her gaff, which was super off putting if the invite was a Sunday lunch, all I’d think about is what time I could leave so I’d still have a decent portion of Sunday evening in my own house.

Yeah definitely. London is more like a lot of different towns within one city. 600sq miles after all, which is a big old area especially if you’re going from one end to the next.

I really feel like this is the dream

I’d honestly be depressed as fuck if I had to work from home. I like getting out haha

Steering off a bit but I bet her rent/mortgage is an absolute bomb too?!

No one will stop you from sitting in a cafe in a different country as long as you are working.

This won’t make you feel any better, but I’m just slightly off you in Barnes/Putney and for similar money I’m living in a stunner of a 2 bed flat :sunglasses:

Underground parking on top of that is a fucking bonus and a half

Reality is you could have easily found better value for money 10 minutes drive off from where you are and had similar commute times etc

Yeah Putney is great. My best friend got a wonderful place with like herringbone wooden floors etc. in Kennilworth Court 5 minutes from Putney Bridge tube (on upper Richmond road), total stunner, for £1,750 a month. We were very jealous but there was nothing like that when we looked as the market moves quite quickly in July when we were moving.

Having a dog also meant there were a lot of places wouldn’t have us.

We were on all of the websites like zoopla, right move, open rent, rent my home etc. and must have had viewings with like 6 different agencies.

I think sometimes it just boils down to right time right place as well.

That said, we do have a big old garden as well that we throw a lot of BBQs, brunches and “bonfires” (we have a nice fire pit we use a lot) which is nice as we like having friends over a lot.

Absolutely. We’ve been thrown off guard at how quick the market moves.

We booked a few viewings last year for houses that had come onto the market that same week and by the time we even viewed some of these places we’d been informed that these properties had already had offers accepted.

The gems get swallowed very rapidly.

Yeah it happened to us several times that a place had an offer accepted on it either en route to the viewing or during :joy:

Frustrating to say the least

How would people feel about moving out now as things look?

For that matter, is anyone still looking?

Greenland is very nice in the spring

I’d love a lighthouse if I won the lottery.

Since you asked @mysty give me my 25th like cheers :+1: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But leaving you on 24, and not getting that badge is just too damn tempting.
