Wasn’t Saka saying “this is the year” to win the league after beating PSG

Who cares lol

Have Talksport on and apparently Al-Hilal may try to sign Salah in January just so they can have him for the upcoming Club World Cup.

Imagine if Madrid sign both Virgil and Trent on a free next summer. They do need both a CB and RB.
Imagine if they want a RW too. I know a guy for that too. :arteta:

Think we all need to come to terms with these cunts winning the title this season

This. And the narrative that ‘they haven’t played anyone yet’ doesn’t make sense anymore.

Can only beat who’s in front of you.

They have been lucky! Luck will run out…not having them as title winners

Bit of luck…lots of momentum…lots of winning.

Easy fixture list or not they’ve put the points on the board, that’s bare minimum

They can definitely stumble but it’s not good considering both us and City are looking far from convincing

People were acting like they weren’t contenders but they’re legit, yeah it may not be pretty but the results are flowing, it’s perfect time for them to play City at the moment

Don’t see many games from the next eight where they’ll drop points, gonna need some big favours

We really don’t.

If we’re in April and they’re 10 points ahead, then let’s talk.
We’re nowhere near that.

The gap is only 5 points between them and City, their biggest misses have been Alisson(for whom they have Kelleher who’s always shown perfectly capable of covering him) and Jota(he isn’t even a guaranteed starter for them).
And the most important bit, they don’t play all that well, certainly not well enough to be above the rest.

Just a little bit of context, Spurs had an even better start than them last season. Gathering 26 points in 10 games. Liverpool gathered 25 in 10, 28 in 11 today.

I think people remember what happened to Tottenham last season. An unexpected loss to Chelsea, a couple injuries and a slippery slope followed. Not only did those fuckers not challenge for the PL but they didn’t even got back in the CL in the end.

And you don’t have to just look at Spurs being Spursy. Liverpool themselves were 5 points ahead of us in February.
Their momentum was even greater to the point that people thought they could pull off a quadruple.
All they won was the League Cup against Chelsea’s kids, they crashed out of both FA Cup and EL, and they finished 7 points below us and 9 points below City.

So excuse me for not crowning them champions in November.

What their schedule has done is give Arne Slot a perfect base to start convincingly and get all his players onboard with his gameplan.

While their schedule will come back to hit them hard, they would have much greater confidence compared to the alternative.

It’s a shame they didn’t lose against us or one more game here & there.

It’s gonna be another 19/20 season where they run away with it I fear

You’re not in a title race if you’re 10 points behind the leaders.

Not impossible for us to get back into it but for now we need to think about our games and our games only for now.

What about 7 points? Probably a fairer point if after today we are ten points off them after losing to Chelsea, but we do have a game in hand atm, with that currently accounting for 30% of the lead the scousers have over us.

Given the pace that has been required to win the title in recent years, I’d say it’s at the outer edge of reason to say we have a realistic chance.

If it were City firing on all cylinders that were seven points clear, I’d say no way. But I still think it’s a very long way to be behind Liverpool.

On the basis of what though? A five point gap from an injury ridden City(who they haven’t faced yet) in early November?

Exactly, been saying this is the biggest benefit from it.

If they had a hard start and a wobble it would’ve left players unconvinced early on, now they are all well bought in.

Would be quite something Slot to win the premier league in his first season here.

Throws the whole argument of “but the manager needs time and build his oWn tEaM” out of the window :joy::joy::joy:

Liverpool got the right badly

The manager needing time to build a team only works when they’ve inherited a shit one.

As we saw with Conte, Ancelotti and Mourinho if you inherit a good team you will be successful at the first time of asking.

That’s an elite group of managers to be fair.
