Lionel Messi šŸ

I would go with Vini personally. Just have this feeling Rodri will get the nod because of the Euros.

agree. I donā€™t think Vini Jnr has a good reputation tbh and I think that plays a part in these awards.

Rodri deserves it over all the other options

He is the most consistent and his sustained excellence is taken for granted

Bellingham getting serious consideration is laughable in comparison

Giving it to an attacker just because would be lame, weā€™re out of the Messi and Ronaldo era.

Why would Bellingham being in consideration with Rodri and co be laughable lol?

Because he simply hasnā€™t been as good as Rodri

I just donā€™t rate his contribution to the Spain Euros victory tbh. I think Fabian Ruiz was better in the midfield. Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams were the key players by my watch, though I do rate the general management from de la Fuente

Those three may have been better in the comp but I donā€™t see the Euros as some kind of decider

I like Rodri, but I feel like his contributions are a little overrated. Top player but Haaland is Man Cityā€™s best player by my watch.

Haaland wasnā€™t even in their top 2 best players last season.

And I donā€™t agree that his contribution is overrated, take him out of their team and they donā€™t win the league last season.

He is as impactful as Haaland, just isnā€™t generally measured by goals. However, he scores some of their most important ones when the chips are really down.

I disagree. Man City were beatable until Haaland and KDB came back. Rodri did well to keep them in the hunt but I donā€™t see him as the x-factor

I just see goals as the hardest thing to do in football. To get a goal a game will always be a eyebrow raiser for me.

Beatable but they didnā€™t lose any games though?

And last season without him they lost three games in a row no?

We should injure Rodri, agreed.

they did?

Hereā€™s the plan. Iā€™ll distract him while you Roy Keane him.

Weā€™ll worry about the getting away with it part later.

Was thinking more Moe from that episode of the Simpsons where Burns is on the bowling team.

Although that would probably more go down like this in realityā€¦

What you linked broke

Yeah, domestically(there was an inbetween game in the CL that Rodri could play and they won).
Domestically he got the red against Forest and then he was out for Newcastle in the League Cup, Wolves in the PL and then Arsenal again in the PL.
They lost all 3.

So he does have a crooked smile.

Personally Iā€™d like to see it go to Valverde, goes under the radar at RM,but so essential to them pulling the strings and moving the ball forward and most importantly his consistency.
