Valverde is magnificent. My favourite midfield player at the moment. Heās got so much quality on the ball.

Why not? Iāve given you my reasons why, if Modric could win it in the Messi/Ronaldo era why not Valverde? If he was Brasilian or Argentinian heād be a contender, it just seems it has to go to a flair type of player or one that just scores goals.

Unless they get seriously fucked by an injury, theyāll both be there imo.
I think there will be a push to have Messi there due to the MLS connection now but I think thatād be it for him, he will call it day after that.
Ronaldo I can see play for a bit longer if he hasnāt broken the 1k goal milestone by then.
I can also see him wanting to play with his son as well.
On a separate note, I would really love it if someday we get a 1 on 1 interview between the two and get deeper look on the rivalry and their career respectively.
To me theyāre not only the two best in football that I have ever seen but theyāre best athletes too.

This sounds like it would be tbe most boring show ever produced. The rivalry is all between people online, I donāt think they actually feel one between one another at all. Iām sure they respect each otherās brand though.

The rivalry feels more like it comes from Ronaldoās side than Messiās imho.
I donāt think Ronaldo wouldāve pushed himself as much as he did, if Messi wasnāt always there bagging a brace or a hattrick the night before in LaLiga.
Ronaldo is possibly the most self absorbed footballer of the last 30 years. He only cares about what he does and what others do to help him.
