He slept with the witness who was a nurse in series 2 like you say, to some degree he also hooked up with Lindsey Denton, we don’t know how far it went but he told her not to play the recording in front of his colleagues. He shagged his new partner before she took an early exit via the window. And in this series she’s not so much a witness but he’s romantically involved with someone he shouldn’t, someone who is too close to work, especially given he suspects she’s received dodgy money from his boss that was left over from a case they were working.
Witnesses isn’t really accurate, but the general theme is that he really needs to control himself a little bit lol

Far too many references to previous seasons is a drawback.
Last week’s adrenalin-fuelled police chase was breathtakingly spectacular, though. Reminiscent of the undercover biker scene from True Detective season 1.

I’m honestly disappointed. Basically just pick the other Scottish character.
It all has to come together eventually, what’s the point of all that’s come before otherwise. I like the references to past seasons.
Anyone catch the way H spelled definitely as “definitely”? Hastings also spelt it like that back in season 5, he can’t end up being H though surely.

It does, but this particular season is really asking us to do a total recall. It’s like a synoptic exam!
I remember the first line of duty series I watched was the 4th (with Thandi Newton). It was almost a stand-alone series. I watched series 1 to 3 afterwards lol.

To be fair I’ve only just started watching the series like two weeks ago so that plays a part too, it’s fresh in my memory

Also, when Big Ted said “now we’re sucking diesel” is that something people say in Ireland? It might have been the best line of the season next to when Kate told Steve “you always pick a right shithole”
