A group of us went there on a stag weekend for our Asian mate who was getting married and it seemed quite a diverse.
There was more than thirty of us and about half were Asian although I’m not sure if he chose Leicester because it’s a diverse town.
But it was better than going to London which is too busy and too expensive.
Proper grim place. It really is an eye opener visiting some of the bigger towns/cities north of London. Stoke in particular, what a soul destroying area that must be to live in.
Rotherham, Leicester, Stoke, Macclesfield, Liverpool
Absolutely hideous places I’ve been to in the last two years lol. North of London is largely very grim and definitely convinces me that I was lucky to be born in London.
Tbh most of London is shit nowadays. Most of the people I know from London have said it’s done wonders for the health when they’ve moved away from there.
After about a decade of moving out from London I returned to Croydon for a Jamaican Family Festival. Miserable place especially given how everything has skyrocketed in terms of cost. What was scary was the vast amount of areas that have seen very little improvement. Leaving was the best decision ever made. Feel for the locals though seems futile hoping it’ll get better.
It’s always the way as we get older, isn’t it? In our 20s we crave the hustle and bustle of these metropolitan hubs. Late 30s and we’re longing for anywhere we can see fields
I’ve known Brummies to do that. Move from Handsworth to the likes of Sutton (which isn’t bad…for the West Midlands )
