Trossard did very good there but that tweet makes it sound as if he made something miraculous of a nothing position.
When you look at the replay I think the defender did a horrible job to stop him. Trossard did take a pause and allowed him to close him down initally but then managed to get some space to make that cross with couple of simple feints.
Seems the defender totally focused and expected Trossard to cut inside on his right foot and left a ton of space for the cross with the left.
Plus the rest of the defence is doing a horrible job. They have ONE guy to cover there, and the had plenty of time while Trossard was dribbling and making space for himself and but everyone is literally ingoring Merino.
The only thing that makes it a bit harder is that it was on his weaker foot, he made a perfect cross.
He did well, but he doesn’t get all that space and time (neither for himself or Merino) against any decent defence.
Trossard has 9 goal contributions in the league. I’m confident we can get another 10 plus out of him. Slyly he’s having a productive season.
Tbh, I only shared this to make fun of Martinelli.

Didn’t Trossard fall out with De Zerbi as well?
Don’t see what he said that would indicate he fell out with Arteta but he’s not exactly making a name for himself on the pitch given it’s a huge chance to say he can own this left wing spot.
Decent first half yesterday (hence didn’t say anything) but it was mostly coming inside playing like he did when Odegaard was injured.
He absolutely destroys any counter attack we have and it’s really frustrating, so slow and his first touch has started to evade him.
I said differently a few weeks back as he seems like a good squad player but honestly a good bid from Saudi should be entertained.
Well its never been clear if Trossard caused a problem or was it just he wanted to leave and De Zebri took issue with that

Hopefully this is the last season we are seeing the likes of him. He doesn’t seem to wanna renew anyway and i kinda dont want him to either. Can’t put my finger on it but there seems to be this underlying arrogance about him even though he damn well sucks at times.

I think most of us know exactly what you mean.
Today, there was a moment in the last 10 mins where MLS gave away cheap foul to Garnacho which ended our attack, and you could see Trossard looking oddly irritated, he was staring at MLS for a good 10-15s.
Him and Alexis would probably kill each other in training if they played together.

Trossard is a really useful player. Gets flamed way too much IMO. It’s not his fault our attacks are dead. He is usually coming inside to get the ball and take shots when no one else shares the same enthusiasm.
