Why should the importance of the match have any bearing on the punishment?
You could just as easily argue that it happening in that big match is more of a punishment than it happening in a less important game.
He’s not wrong about the rule, though clearly only being highlighted because it’s an opportune moment to bag a few clicks.

I would say there is no need to punish a player (and club) who was already punished during the game.
Ideally, there is a retrospective decision made based on the severity of the dismissal.
Trossard getting sent off for something as trivial shouldn’t result in a punishment that exceeds the remaining duration of the match.

wonder if the reason they write these articles about AFC, is because they know our fanbase is the easiest to get riled up.
They probably earn more £ per impression from Arsenal related articles vs. any other club.

It certainly works on Talk Sport. 
Maybe a bit of that, but I’d say mostly because we have such a large, global fanbase. There’s only a handful of other clubs with similar global reach, so we’re always gonna be a target for these sorts of pieces.
I’d imagine just as much similar stuff gets written about Man U, Liverpool etc but we just don’t notice it because various algorithms aren’t feeding us those pieces as often.
