Leandro Trossard (19)

Definitely should subtract the 0.02-0.03 seconds of air travel time for sound waves at typical surface level air density from Oliver to Trossard as well.

Jokes aside, personally I’ma just choose to believe he isn’t so stupid that he’d rocket the ball into outer space to stall, but rather either didn’t have time to react or was planning a pass to Martinelli or thought the half was over or something, and that’s that for me. Onto the next one.

edit: well techincally not to the next one.
because he will be banned for that one.
but the next one after that.

could it possibly be that, Trossard did hear the whistle but thought it was a whistle for half time??

Didn’t think of this. Possible.

He’s a good player. Hopeless when he starts, but an an absolute rocket when he comes off the bench.

Can you back that up?

Just watch the games he starts?

Since he joined:

36 starts, 11 goals, 12 assists
28 sub appearances, 7 goals, 1 assist

Shocker. He’s done well both as a starter and a sub. Who would’ve thought…

It’s all an illusion when he comes on as a substitute, without doing any research whatsoever and going by assumption I think his goals coming off the bench were divisive goals so stood out more.

I think you’d want to look at mins per G/A when starting or being subbed on to be a more ‘fair’ comparison, but I don’t think anyone’s got the time to do those calculations

His g+a per min would probably be better as a sub, but that’s because he’s quite effective from the bench. ‘Hopeless when he start’ is a bit over the top though.

I believe we just reserved our energy against Spuds and Atlanta for City, so I would not count his performances in those games.

Wins it in the clutch again.

Genuinely massive player for us.

Man simply cannot stop contributing to goals, it’s kind of weird, are we getting to a point where he is even a bit underrated?

I still don’t think of him as particularly lethal or anything but numbers kind of have been showing a different picture for quite a while now, it’s getting hard to deny.

I thought he or Havertz should’ve been subbed off at some point because it was looking like neither could get one past Hermansen in the second half.
Both did in the end though, with some help of course.
