Leandro Trossard (19)

We aren’t getting Rodrygo unless we either sell one player for £80m or can suddenly shift our deadwood for a similar amount.

I’ve long said that I thought we would spend big this summer and that seems to be what we are going to do. If we complete Gyokeres, Eze and Madueke, we will have 2 players in each position. In total, with the above, in addition to the players we have signed we would have spent circa £260m.

We’re then into the position of sales/replacements. Trossard (£20m), Zinny (£15m), Vieira (15m), Nelson (£10m), Lokonga (£5), which are all pretty reasonable fees, plus savings in wages which for Partey and Jorginho equates to easily £15m, and suddenly a £80m deal for Rodrygo is very possible. This also assumes we had nothing else to spend as well.

Doubt very much that Tross swaps our bench for Bayern’s in a World Cup year.

It’ll take a lot of things to fall in place ahead of the end of the window. Perhaps my pessimism is based on other clubs circling and my personal (possibly irrational) dislike of Real Madrid and their hierarchy.

If we could get him for £80-90m it would be silly not to bid, I just think that one of the cash-rich clubs will scoop him up before that or try to force a bidding war. If that happens I’ll be more than happy to save the money and look at opportunities in January.

But first, we have to get Goykores over the line now our 3rd option, Watkins, has been unfathomably valued by Villa at £100m and with the unpleasant situation that’s arisen I think we’ll have to swallow our pride and pay what UnSporting Lisbon are now demanding.

He’s done relatively well for us. Hope he gets to grab some Saudi cash for his retirement in the twilight of his career.

They’ve told him that we’re getting a LW in. Arteta hinted that he wasn’t particularly happy with his playing time last season, he probably wanted to know if Noni is the only attacking midfielder we’re buying.

Can’t complain though, while he didn’t look as sharp last season he filled a massive gap in our squad and never gave less than 100% when called upon. Good luck Leo.

It’s a shame because I’ve always seen him as our supersub but not one for a starting place.

Sometimes came across as a miserable fucker on the pitch though

lots of places that are interested…maybe we will get more than 20p for him that makes a change.

You would hope, but it could be like quite a few of the deals happening recently, player picks a favourite and the club have to negotiate with just that club.

Could work either way depending on if he wants the sporting allure of Bayern or the financial allure of Saudi. Best scenario are different Saudi clubs fighting over him

All well and good offering a higher salary but pay up with a decent fee ya cunts

Trossard and Kane up front. Are they joining a walking football league?

What do we think he’s worth?

I personally think we should be looking for around £30m if we are selling him

We’re so terrible at getting value for our players, so who knows.

Around 20-30, get back near what we paid for him after getting a good couple years

I agree, off the bench, he’s possibly our best attacking player, so unless we get at least 25m we should keep him, especially if we don’t buy a top quality LW in this window.

Personally I’d say £20-25m given his age.

For what is worth though, I do not think the club is in any rush to move him on.
The fact the contract renewal talks are purely down to giving him a raise and not to actually extend his deal says it all.

Thanks for the memories brother but it’s time to go.

Didn’t have Trossard looking like our best LW in the summer of 2025.

It’s what happens to most of them when there playing for a new contract.
