Missing the key one, desire.

He is missing one big tool also…
Mentality

Not sure if that’s the case yet.
Personally, I always thought that he stayed at PSG that long because he wanted to be the one to lead PSG to the Champions League.
I think he wanted that checked off before heading to Madrid.
Time is still with him. If he adds a couple CLs to his name and leads France to more glory(perhaps with another World Cup), I think the outlook on him will be very different.

No chance, you can see he doesn’t have the same winning mentality that Ronaldo has even to this day.

He wouldn’t have sat at PSG so long, wouldn’t have been so money and power focused in being convinced to stay and would be working a lot harder to make himself the best in the world right now…when he has a clear path to do so.

Busy throwing his toys out the pram at Deschamps…same guy who won him that precious WC.

They don’t win it without Mbappe, and they don’t reach the last final without him either.
A final by the way that would’ve been lost much earlier had it not been for him.
The dude nearly turned it around too.

He earned a massive believer in me that day. The guy is special.

Awful take

Messi and CR7’s drive to win, to score in their careers, don’t really see that from Mbappe.

He is more enjoying the elastico and freestyle football.

They could not win it without Griezmann.
He was as important as Mbappe in that WC.

I’d happily take Mbappe if he’s available.

But this screams everyone prematurely calling him a flop before he smashes the league.

Who called him a flop??

I don’t understand this bit. We’re not talking about Ronaldinho and Neymar here.

Mbappe can do that stuff but he’s not popular for it. You mention CR7, he was more popular for this type of stuff than Mbappe.

Some stuff that Mbappe is popular for:
At 17 he helped Monaco beat PSG to the Ligue 1 and reach the CL semi-finals.
At 19 he helped France win the World Cup and at 23 he nearly did it back-to-back.

He’s 25 now. Perhaps he’s hit his peak and that’d be it but I think there’s still more to come from him, and if there is I think he can one of the greatest legacies in the game.

(Brighton nearly equalised so I will focus on that now )

Young mbappe was class and had all the tools to be a great in history.

He’s fucked it the last few years and has a lot of work to do to get back there.

He’s 25 man, not 30. Plenty of time ahead of him and he now plays for the biggest club in the world.

I can’t write him off personally given what he’s shown before.

Even at 25, Mbappe needs to score 50 goals for next 9 years to match Ronaldo’s output.
Big big ask even if he has the tools for it.

Does he have to achieve the same things?
Not an easy task but say Mbappe has multiple World Cups(which he can do), multiple Champions Leagues(very likely to do at Madrid) and likely the top scorer in World Cup history(on his way).

Won’t that grant him an incredible legacy?

(Brighton nearly equalised again, let’s focus on that lads)

No, but Ronaldo was never out of the limelight and up until United’s second stint, He was never subjected to criticism like Mbappe is facing now.

Ronaldo & Messi dominated the Ballon Dor nominations for 15 years.

Mbappe will be considered one of the greats but reaching Ronaldo’s legend status will be an uphill task.

Absolutely. Not arguing being a tough ask.
But does he have the tools to do so? I think he does.
