La Liga

I don’t think he’s all that.
I think the near or possibly over 100m fee and ridiculous wages his next club will hand him will not prove to be worth it.

I can definitely see it being us, would be happy for him to prove me wrong in that case because if he does end up being an expensive flop and it’s here, we would be seriously fucked.

He would have if Vinicius didn’t fuck this easy chance.

I feel bad for Mbappe. Almost everyone wants to see him fail. Even commentator at 1:54

“it looks like he is always missing now”. for a very narrow angle chance.

For what is worth, I still think Mbappe is better than Vini.
His underwhelming start is not phasing me. Madrid is not an easy place to go to and hit the ground running.
Vini knows that firsthand. And even more senior players have struggled.

Ronaldo and more recently Bellingham are outliers and those two had the benefit of coming to a team that was struggling. Mbappe has come in a team that has just won all but one competition it competed in last season.

Mbappe is the better player individually, but give me Vini Jnr in the year 2024 if I have to think about the team.

Vini is the better player now.

Agreed. Mbappe has had the highest peak so far which is what I’m banking on him rediscovering.
I don’t think Vini’s ceiling is close to it.

Back-to-back ACL injuries.
Finito.

For Mbappe to shine, you have to give him absolute freedom and let him do his freestyles.

Which team has the luxury for that?

A lot of teams are built around certain players.
Even the best ones.
Is this different to how Madrid was built around Ronaldo? Or how Barca was built around Messi?
We’ve had our own with Henry.

No but to do so Madrid need to rip apart a winning team and focus it around him.

I know I wouldn’t.

Messi is a much much better team player than CR7 and Mbappe.
You don’t see the assists he had on the other two.

For CR7, he was THE PLAYER that teams built around. He was the ALPHA no matter what.
Also, he worked harder and more versatile.

Some Twitter docs are predicting Neymar to do his ACL again based on his own rehabilitation programme.

How many hat-tricks in a WC final has Cristiano Ronaldo scored?
Actually, how many WC knockout goals in general has Cristiano Ronaldo scored?

Here’s Mbappe when he was 19:

This is why I dislike the criticism of Haaland for being a bad footballer, just because he doesn’t demand 30 touches of the ball. Everyone man, dog, rat, cat, knows that that Haaland would be on the last line making the run in behind at the moment Mbappe is looking to receive in the #10 space.

You want to single out one tournament.
A WC winning team that the starting striker did Notbscored a single goal.

I bet there are many records that Mbappe will not and cannot break.
He is not going to have the longevity that Messi and CR7 have.

I think Mbappe has the tools to usurp Cristiano’s legacy.
