If Arsenal did we could wear Ted Drake ones.

Madrid take an early significant win. Just gone 3-1 against Barca with a late pen.

Puts them 3 ahead of Barca in the table.

Xavi not long for this world. Once the CL exit is confirmed it’ll be curtains for him

Kessie criminally underutilised and Busquets starting every game like he’s 25

Xavi looking funny in the light

Always seemed like they were massively overspending on him and it wasn’t his level.

All in all Xavi has been pretty underwhelming. Seems he’s got a team of flat track bullies but he’s underutilising a lot of really good talent.

Another payoff?!

Barcelona truly putting themselves in the mud

Valverde is soo good

Barcelona have laid an egg in every marquee match so far this season, they’d want to sort that out rather briskly moving forward.

The problem is that they aren’t actually that good. They have a stacked squad and they dominate possession but they don’t have the incisiveness in the final third. I think having Lewa is a major bailout for them too, he can drag them past all the average and shit teams.

They must have the highest proportion of former players managing them than any club. It doesn’t seem like the greatest strategy so far.

What a strike.

Every Madrid game now seems to be Valverde x Benzema goalfest.

Madrid struck gold with Valverde, quality versatile player.

For me it’s impressive how consistently they’ll get the goals from somewhere if it isn’t Benzema or Vini… they’ll come from Rodrygo all off a sudden (vs City in the CL) or Modric just fucks shit up or Valverde scores a couple or Asensio comes on and scores (super sub style) etc. or some defender like Alaba or Rudiger gets the winner for them.

The legendary CR7 seem to have had his seemingly irreplaceable goal scoring somewhat covered by Benzema and Vini and now it looks as if they’re transitioning fairly well out of that seemingly irreplaceable midfield trio of Casemiro-Kroos-Modric considering how good the like of Tchouameni, Camavinga and Valverde look at times.

Idno, but one would guess that it’s a combination of just world class coaching behind the doors at that club and a mentality that’s in the walls, but some credit should also probably go to grandpa Carlo, few if any managers know how to get stars to gel like he does.

Dembele and Lewandowski running the show

Sublime goal from Lewandowski to make it 3-0

The Madrid talent ID and scouting rarely gets huge amounts of credit
